I'd like to put a different spin on things, carrying on directly from the point I left off in the quote above.

... is Jade being castigated, for doing what she's told will make things better by an agent she clearly trusts implicitly? She's being cajoled into apologising for things that she hasn't even done. Yes, it's a desperate bid to save her career, and knock her for that to your heart's content. But she deserves sympathy too, for being so blatantly manipulated (to protect other people's investment in her, at the end of the day) and apparently not even realising. It doesn't even seem that she understands what she's doing there. She apologised to "the Indian community", rather than the Indian people. So the apology is for those at home, rather than in the country she's currently visiting.

As for 'stunts', what about the woman who was little miss culture and dignity, sweetness and light, full of grace, etc. in the house, and then a few days later having fooled the vast majority of the voting public, was pouting for the tabloids in a mini skirt, fishnets and 4 inch heels? The easiest way to pull-off a con successfully is right before people's eyes, after all.

Jade's perfume is on quite prominent display in the centre of a shop window in St. John's Market, Liverpool (reduced from £20 to £15). It's on the shelves inside as well. There's a gift set available, too. The shop is owned and run by a really nice Indian gentleman, as it goes.

How embarassing is it for this country for it to be represented abroad by Jade.

As has someone previously mentioned, before Celebrity Big Brother the Jade Goody phenomenon was this countries' secret. Now everyone knows.

To answer Charlotte -

I'm sure you're right and she is doing eveything that John Noel tells her, but I'd like her to be a liittle less obvious about it. it's almost like they've got the damage repair playbook and they're running it step by step. The trip to India uphold this as I'm at a loss to know why she's not visiting the slums of England or Africa.

I'd be very disappointed in the British public if they let her get off this easily. I want her to work harder to regain our respect.

Is that such an outrageous request?
