You see this is part of the problem with wanting to cut down the amount of content that viewers have to put up with, you're reducing the number of live weeks when the biggest complaint was always that the actual show running times were too long. Now they have to cram more in in less weeks
It doesn't really make sense. Basically they've noticed that ratings have been getting worse throughout live shows so they've decided to have less of them, and also ratings for Sunday results were getting worse so they assumed we want to see more of the performance shows. It's all chasing ratings

but there were also rumours that the categories would be split. So say girls and overs perform on Saturday with a result and sing off then same again for boys and groups on the Sunday

They should put 1 boy, 1 girl, 1 over and 1 group in a category with each judge.

Mix it up a bit.

I think this year will be interesting because when I went to the six chairs Simon mentioned this year there is no themes in the live shows

According to preliminary schedules, the first 2 live shows (Saturday and Sunday week 1, under the new format) are set to be 165 minutes long. That's 8pm-10:45pm...

mess. I couldn't even be bothered at this cheap and rushed season anymore. Just axe this aging show, or soon it would have BB18 ratings...

The judges all choose one person each who was their least favourite, the safe ones have to vote one off and the public votes the other one. imagine

If they do this, surely they will have to have it at 7pm and not 8? That's stupidly late

surely they can't keep it like that?

I'm pretty sure they've done a 150 minute Saturday show on a few occasions but that's absurd...why haven't they learned that the show's lengths were part of the fatigue, not the number of weeks the live shows ran for?

I'm guessing it'd be two hours of performances and then a guest performance from 10, with the results and sing-off to follow in the two parts from 10:15 onwards

I honestly think they'd be better off doing a separate results show both nights like the old days (and BGT). So run the performances 7-9, and then the results 9:30-10/10:15?

Live Shows have been altered and the official schedules are out..

Live show 1 - Saturday 28th 8:15pm-10:15pm
Live show 2 - Sunday 29th 7:00pm-9:00pm

Not sure what they’re doing, but 2 hours for 12/11 performances + results doesn’t seem right, so I guess they’re going to do two categories one night and two categories the next night. Which I don’t like..

Any reason why they couldn't just do it like they always do but have a double elimination on the Sunday with a Bottom3 sing off
They are so difficult
