You can have your opinions on both of them but you can't seriously think Shane has been a bad role model for LGBT people, or less so than Amanda
He's talked about it so often and educate so many, all Amanda has done is try to shut him up

But she is a role model to let everyone know you don't have to run the streets and shout you are gay from the rooftops every second.

Being gay shouldn't define who you are but Shane wants it to define who he is

No, he just isn't happy that people still believe he isn't equal to straight men and what's to change that and show that he is equal
Amanda is happy people think she's less than straight people because of how she was born

You can't portray her as an LGBT role model when she has done NOTHING for LGBT rights. She's now benefitting from all of the hard work of activists and lecturing people trying to defend LGBT rights.

He wasn't born in the generation that changed LGBT rights. Amanda was.

I think you may have had little insight into how it was in Amanda's early life.

There were gay women who came out like Dusty Springfield and Maggie Bell.

They did more for Gay rights in the 50/60s by being in the public eye and LGBT were nowhere so they do not have the monopoly on how it has become today.

I would gladly accept Amanda's concept of her Gay life but would run a mile at these activists who want to ramrod their views down people's throats. In my view they are turning people off rather than welcoming them.

They work on a shame agenda, if you are not with us, you are homophobic and I find this attitude far more destructive than building relations in the community.
