If there is an element of competition here, it is interesting.

Natalie loves telling how bad she can become and her acerbic and loud taunts are many especially towards Gabby.

Gabby, the blonde totally opposite to Natalie has responded by feeling upset and hurt especially in front of the men.

Then Natalie feels rejected by not being personally asked to join the exercise group and when Gabby dares to answer back, uses the race card to justify her reasons, even though it was totally absurd in this case.

How easily Natalie slipped that in and one would expect not for the first time when her behaviour is challenged. The implied meaning was "You don't like me because I am black" rather than it was that she could have got up and joined in rather than being asked.

We only see one hour a day of what happens in there. Maybe other stuff happened we don't know about?
Because it could explain why Natalie genuinely doesn't know why Gabby is acting like that, and she had no other choice but to think it was due to race somehow? I'm throwing options out there, not stating.
To me I only see it as a communication issue, but then it went too far. I actually think Natalie was being nice in the first days to Gabby, and I can understand Gabby felt weird after some discussions with Natalie. She is a big character for sure.
