It is really ironic that Lewis will express the need for calm and positive energy, yet as you say, creates a very heavy and exhausting energy through his paranoia and negativity. It's almost like he self sabotages for some reason.

However, it is clear he is aware of his own issues, and is making efforts to address them. Though it is also clear that sometimes those issues control him rather than him controlling them.

..in another year, in another house etc...I’m totally certain that he couldn’t have coped with it at all, Garfie...and would have run for the door in a complete meltdown...but this house, these people are the positive energy that are keeping him in, the very reason why he’s remained..?...yeah, there is negativity toward him obviously, there couldn’t not be...but it’s just like a drop compared to the ocean of support and understanding he’s getting you know..they make so many allowances for him but he makes so few allowances for them...those them people who are just having fun, who are just being silly and sometimes crude and sometimes loud, but often bored...who are just embracing every aspect of their experience ...like every big brother which has gone before......because they realise the importance of surface and deep and the balance of the two...a balance that Lewis is incapable of unless it’s on his terms which are very uncompromising...

...not his fault and with no mean intention..but no less oppressive though...and with the necessity of a huge amount of understanding and tolerance, which no other housemate gets to that degree..either by the other housemates or by us public people...the behaviour of others is just analysed/judged and dismissed in a completely different way...

Yes, much as I think he would be extremely interesting to talk to, I think he would become too intense and overbearing in a conversation. His mood swings and erratic nature must also be very difficult to live with. And you're right, for some reason he can't find a balance - in so many ways- he cannot get balance even in his own mind and thought processes. I bet a therapist would find him so interesting to treat! A fascinating specimen!

He's trying hard to overcome his issues. Must be hard to deal with the anxiety and paranoia. Sometimes it completely takes over him. But at least he's making the effort.

well I've seen him enjoying it, probably more than some of the other whingers in there. he has some very light & funny moment, I know this cos it brings a smile to my face every time. of course he has down time too but no more than any of the others, although its hard to tell when some of the others are having down time or what they would perceive as up time, sian springs to mind, now she does seem permanently miserable

hes even making an effort with hussain, didnt think that would ever happen, but hes never dull or predictable is our lewis. think there'll always be unease between them though, til next friday when hussain vacates the premises
