They aren't awful they have been done to a very high standard and ARE tasteful in the fact they aren't dark, thick black ink tats and not exactly full on sleeves a lot of people get which can look terrible especially as you age.

Im speaking as a person who has 18 tattoos so maybe im just biased but I like to think I know what quality tattoos look like against "awful" tattoos.
