brilliantly constructed point , should i go with you or James's earlier post ??

Jon has been the only contestant so far, that Hotel California was classic but it didn't even register with the others, the most interesting things the rest do involve throwing tampons about, talking about their favourite films for 123rd time or doing hilarious crab impressions.

with Jon you get an eccentric and complex mind, everything he says is pretty fresh especially if you don't know what he's talking about...who will ever forget that lots of terms in Physics begin with a P,and everyone will surely remember where they were and who broke the terrible news to them that Chewbacca was dead

JON - Winner of BB4 ??

I like Jon - I think he is intelligent, funny and he good be good to get a few tensions in the air because he could start to get on peoples nerves, like he already is with Anouska - but I did hear that he helped a friend to slaughter a pig. That kind of put me off him, but then I suppose people have different matter on things like that.

I've voted now and i've voted for Federico due to the task mess up he made. I have a horrible feeling though that Jon will be going tonight

C4 Big Brother updates 'inaccurate', say fans

Julia Day
Friday May 30, 2003

Fans have accused Endemol, the producer of Big Brother, of editing the Channel 4 evening updates to reinforce impressions of the housemates created by the tabloid press.

Fans believe E4's live, round-the-clock coverage has been edited for the nightly Channel 4 show to give an "inaccurate" reflection of what is really happening in the house.

The concerns have arisen over the way Jon Tickle appears to have been singled out as the "boring" housemate. The Daily Star today called Tickle a "Jonny no mates".

Tickle, one of four Big Brother inmates facing eviction tonight, appeared on the Channel 4 programme boring his housemates with stories about Star Wars.

However, fans who watched the live coverage on E4 claimed other housemates joined in the conversation and the footage was edited for Channel 4 to give the impression the contestants were not at all interested in what Tickle was saying.

"I hate the way Channel 4 has picked up that the nation think Jon is boring and now they are just getting his most boring bits and showing them on TV. They play up to what the public wants," Big Brother forum member Tammy1 wrote on the show's official website.

T4NN1E replied: "I completely agree. They edit it to make it look as [though when] jon starts a [conversation] or asks a question, everyone goes to sleep."

Wozza, another fan, added: "You're right guys, Tickle is being edited. Everything you say about Jon being edited badly is true.

"It's just the mass media focus of the production company playing up to whatever the Sun prints the previous day."

A Big Brother spokeswoman defended the editing, saying: "The Channel 4 programme reflects what has happened that day, showing the most interesting things in the house. But we never pigeonhole people.

"The commentary on the show is very neutral. The media might pigeonhole housemates, that's up to them. We try to be as fair to everybody as we can."

-------------------------------------------------

I think it is true that C4 tries to caricature HMs in the highlights, not necessarily that the producers have their own favourites.

I've seen some anti-Federico feeling around on the forums, so he might be worth a few votes if you want Jon to stay.

I've voted for Anouska and Federico. First time I've ever voted in Big Brother.

Reading this thread fills me with hope. Unfortunately some people think BB is about a group of housemates who look good either male or female, who want to or wear the latest sunglasses, who can have a conversation about clothes for at least two hours everyday and who are probably going to get it on with someone else in the house.

Thanks everybody lets just keep our fingers crossed and may be hope for some intervention from the outer galaxy.

Nope. I've always taken the view that one vote isn't going to make any difference.

It won't in this case either, but if I didn't vote this time I'd feel like I wasn't giving Jon any support.

I do hope the Great British public has some sense and keeps Jon in, but I doubt it. Without him they will be just a bunch of 'normal' people who get on well and there wont be any individuals in there.

He is so boring, he is funny. I lol when he was going on and on about Star Wars and the others were trying hard not to fall asleep. The best bit of BB so far this year.

There seems to be a bit of anti-Scott feeling too as well as Federico.
