This hypocritical over-reaction from people is exclusive to this particular Big Brother incident and is a simple display of ignorance. Where have these people been for the past (?) years? Where have the campaigns been to get this word removed from the shelves of record stores so it can't be sold to younger generations?

Personally, I would advocate any movement that sees to it that people of Negro descent have the final say on how acceptable this word is in our society, but anyone who demonises Emily Parr about it, I view with unreserved contempt and pity.

Firstly, I only think that certain sections of society have trivialised the word and it is mainly the people who do not understand the history of the word but merely demand their right to use it.

I agree there has been an over reaction by some speople towards Emily's use of the word but that was bound to happen due to the events of CBB5.

People will always demonise Emily for the completely braindead thing that she said. Emily is not to blame for that but it is, to some degree, inevitable.
