Not really relevant, it's about funding. If it isn't there it isn't there.

Where else is there a 6 hour wait for an ambulance?

By the sounds of it this isn't a standard Welsh thing. It's a one off.

Not that that excuses anything for this poor woman.

Could be anywhere - total pot luck. If your case isn't urgent your ambulance can be 30 seconds away and get turned around because of a more serious incident elsewhere.

I'm sure we had an English version of this within the last few months.

Edit: found

https://www.lynnnews.co.uk/news/woma...entre-9086482/

A woman who spent four hours waiting for an ambulance after falling over in Lynn’s town centre last week has thanked those who came to her aid.

The elderly woman, who has asked not to be named, broke her hip after tripping and falling on Broad Street on Tuesday, after which a number of businesses and a retired A&E doctor offered their help.

Ruth Griffiths, the woman’s daughter, said they are hoping to identify the doctor, who they believe was called John, who stayed with her while she waited in the doorway of a shop on Broad Street from around 10.15am to 2.15pm.

Edit pt 2.

There's actually a load of these stories from the last few years, although this lady unfortunately died is why this is being reported so prominently.

Victim blaming again?

Hospital and ambulance service can't cope with demand for patients. Damn them bloody patients getting ill, having accidents and dying.

More evidence of the demonisation of the NHS in order to soften the public up to selling and dismantling it.

If that was a terrorist incident, the public would have jumped in, ignoring all warnings.

Looks like they were all to busying thier phones to do the decent thing and pick her up, if they could..pop her in the back of a neighbours car..maybe take her to A&E and use it for what it's for...

This whole story is fishy.

Why leave her on the pavement? Why would they bundle her up in freezing conditions instead of moving her inside or getting alternate transport to the hospital?

I feel sorry for the family but I just don't understand why they weren't more pro-active, who the hell decided to leave her outside on the pavement in December?!
