To be fair though, with the budget some of these films are made on it doesn't even have to bomb... Just performing a significant margin under predictions can kill a studio/franchise these days, and take hundreds (sometimes thousands) of jobs with it.

People are quick to downplay economic damage as if "it doesn't matter" in terms of tackling Covid but the uncomfortable fact is, it's a balancing act. Major economic damage WILL cost lives.

Disney will be creaming their pants at the idea of all of the schools being closed just as they're releasing Disney+ though. Someone should search Disneyworld for a secret virus lab . I genuinely think it will generate a HUGE boost in sign-ups.

Mulan was slated for the biggest opening so far this year before it was delayed, it'll probably still do the business wherever they put it (end of the year, I think).

I would not be surprised if New Mutants goes straight to streaming though, that film seems to be an albatross for Disney.

And it’s a disney film, disney films do great at the box office and all live action ones have all been a success.
