...I didn’t ‘stick up’, Arista ...and can you imagine my shock that you’re saying that’s what I’m doing......I posted some reviews that are pretty good reviews of the film so I won’t go Twitter cancel crazy vibe, until I’ve seen the film and the whole context of it ...because from the few reviews I’ve read...it doesn’t seem to sexualise, so much as show how children can be sexualised in this digital age of social media etc...

There are audience members audibly booing and making rude gestures throughout the performance, I wouldn't say it really glamourises their performance at all. It's uncomfortable to watch though, as are child pageants.

It’s a paedo’s dream dressed up as art, was it Slim posted a video a while back from some TV show where kids dressed up as adults and sang in the 80s, it’s as vile as that, for once Twitter is spot on

Neh the more I see and read about this, the worse it gets. It doesn't matter if it's a well made film or what the message is; the content is horrendous visually and unquestionably exploitative of the child actors who are in the film, to such an extent that I'd call it negligent or even abusive. This should never have been allowed to be made using real child actors. Not in the name of art, nor anything else.

Gawd, can you imagine being hired as a casting director for this?! Whoever it was had to sit through probably hundred auditions of little girls twerking etc.

I don't care if the film does reflect the lived experiences of the writer/director, there are some things that shouldn't be depicted like that.

Re the poster thing, even if the one Netflix used wasn't the original poster, it's clearly a publicity shot taken for the movie, rather than a screengrab.
