I was the same with Lost, but that said, I rewatched from start to finish recently and have to say it comes together much better if you watch it all over a shorter time.

I'm not sure I would have continued with it if I had seen it week to week, instead of watching the first four episodes.

Episode 5.

Spoiler:

The guy at the end was her brother from the X Men films? (haven't watched those).

I thought the best bit in the episode was when she had the soldiers/agents turn the guns on the head guy. That was quite chilling.

I agree, it was losing me but the end of episode 3, and all of 4 and 5 are some of the best MCU content yet to be honest. And assume seriously dark stuff

Spoiler:

Yes he plays the same character(ish), Quicksilver, from the X-men universe. But some fairly big differences, e.g. he's American not Sokovian, he's a mutant (and son of Magneto) not a product of an infinity stone, and Wanda is his younger sister not his twin. Also X-men universe was a lot (lot) faster than MCU version and wouldn't have been killed by poxy bullets... . Honestly Quicksilver getting SHOT is one of my biggest MCU pet peeves. The kitchen scene from Xmen Days of Future Past for why!

The question is... I'd be the X-men universe Quicksilver "pulled over" into this reality by Wanda, or is he just Wanda recreating her own brother and the casting is an Easter egg.

Spoiler:

In this instance it'll be an easter egg, I think, but I do think Wandavision will be key in bringing the X-Men into the MCU

Don’t know anything about the Marvel universe apart from the two joker films. But I’ve really enjoyed this so far. Obviously really slow to start with and if it wasn’t for lockdown I doubt I’d have watched past the first episode but I like trying to work out what’s going on

I just watched a YouTube video about "hidden bits" and one really interesting thing is that the "previously on" bits at the start aren't always exactly what happened on the show, e.g. lines delivered slightly differently (with a blank face when it was a smile in the actual episode) etc.
I'm wondering if there's more in the first few episodes that was easy to miss but will stand out on a second viewing?

Reminds me of "Shutter Island" where on a second viewing, what's really going on is SO obvious

Spoiler:

Loving the fact that the 90's sitcom was Malcolm in the Middle, I did think they'd do Roseanne but then I did forget about her deserved fall from grace. I thought it was an excellent episode over all.

I do think Agnes was faking being affected by Wanda during her conversation with Vision. She wasn't frozen in place like the others, she was waiting for him and she reacted completely differently to the man from last episode as well as others stuck in place.

I also liked how Vision, Wanda, Quicksilver and the kids were wearing their comic book outfits, it was a nice nod. I can't wait for the next three episodes.

I think that
Spoiler:

from the Halloween costume (witches hat) in this episode, we can surely be fairly confident that Agnes is Agatha Harkness and either unaffected by Wanda's control, or at least far less affected... My theory would be, she helped Wanda learn how to do this in the first place/guided her into doing it but then got caught up in it too with Wanda being more powerful than she expected, something like that...

I've also seen some theories that Evan Pietro might be Mephisto but I think some of the comments he's made make it seem like that might be a double-bluff. I do think though that "someone else" brought him into this little pocket reality, someone who didn't know which Quicksilver was the "right" one in the multiverse, and plucked the wrong physical appearance out of the Xmen universe.

I've also heard rumours that there's a "big cameo" appearance towards the end of the series and I reckon it's going to be Doc Strange, who will have to intervene to stop Wanda's pocket reality swallowing the world (as we've now seen she can expand it) and he'll dismantle it and take her away, which will then lead into Doctor Strange 2.

Spoiler:

I think Agnes must have been faking the scene with Vision because there was no point in showing it otherwise. It would just repeat the previous scene with Norm.

I hope we get a decent motivation for how Hayward is behaving because he is starting to get a bit of a caricature as a bad guy. That's my only real criticism. Although (it seems) Wanda went back on her word to leave the outside alone if they left her, when she expanded the force-field to save Vision - or whatever Vision is.

Spoiler:

I think we'll basically have two big bads that want each lead for different reasons.

I think you have Agnes/Agatha and Pietro/Mephisto who are looking to manipulate Wanda to create a situation where she magics her (very powerful) kids into existence and you've got Hayword who desperately wants to get Vision's remains back. He said when he was introduced that SWORD was looking more into robotics and AI, so I think he's simply trying to reverse engineer a bunch of Visions, or potentially, with X-Men presumably on the horizon, he may end up becoming the creator of the Sentinels.

Spoiler:

I think interesting to note though, Agatha Harkness isn't really a villain or even anti-hero in Marvel lore... She's mostly been on "the right side" if sometimes or often having questionable methods. I don't think she's a victim but also don't think she's going to be a full-on villain here, more likely just has "other"/unknown motives.

I thought it was an OK episode but for anyone who follows marvel, the two "twists" were basically already known

Spoiler:

1) Agnes being Agatha Harkness and pulling strings, even her killing the dog is straight out of the source material)

2) Monica Rambeau getting superpowers, as we already knew she was the Captain Marvel-adjacent hero, Photon.

That really sort of took the wind out of the sails for the episode overall.

It was the weakest episode, but it was still pretty damn watchable and Kathryn Hahn is just killing it in this show. It's fun just to watch her chew the scenery.

Wanda drives a very reasonably-priced car.

No Audi for her.

I really hope the last episode's decently long, I really enjoyed this episode but I dunno if they can wrap things up in a satisfying manner if it's only 30 minutes long.

Honestly, this is probably my favourite thing that MCU has ever done. I really looked forward to it every week.

Spoiler:

I imagine the fact that the finale didn't really have any big twists will upset people but I really liked what they did here. I'm glad they didn't kill off Agatha because she's such a promising character and I hope they bring her back before long (which, given her popularity, seems a given).

I thought while the episode was simple, like last week's it had a real emotional punch to it. Honestly, they should just nominate Elizabeth Olsen for everything, as well as Paul Bettanny, as his physical clash turned philosophical debate with White Vision was another really good moment for him in a series that has just let him reel off strong performance after strong performance.

Also I loved everything to do with the Scarlet Witch, she's my favourite Marvel character and to see her realised fully onscreen was a delight. The costume is a shoot, it's reveal was excellent and the setup for Doctor Strange 2 has made it my most anticipated MCU film.

Honestly, one of my favourite shows in a while, I don't think Falcon & The Winter Soldier will live up to it, but I hope it will.

I imagine so, you'll probably be a bit lost on what's happening with Wanda if you don't.

You should watch it anyway because Wanda > Doctor Strange
