This definitely made things worse. But the problem was there before as well.

There is a difference to freedom of speech and being a downright racist

true, i am also not defending racism, but cartoons in newspapers are usually meant in a light-hearted way, not something to be taken seriously

Disgusting comment, how dare you.

But ask yourself why? Because the west has absolutely shattered their countries and continue to do so, if we want it to stop we need to look at ourselves and what we have done

We haven't done enough, clearly, or the world would be a better place.

The world would have been a better place if we didn't start war on countries we had no business being in

As everyone knows muslim is not a race, so saying things like the cartoons were racist is blatantly false and actually very damaging to throw it around. France is a country with religious freedom, like our own, and people are allowed to make fun of religion and question it as much as they like without fear of being murdered

You said what you said. THANKS!
Charlie Hebdo makes fun of everybody, it's not specifically targeted to muslim people. Whether we like this newspaper or not, what they did is not illegal and should be allowed to continue doing so.
If we were to do things that only please people or be politically correct, then we'd pretty much live in a dictatorship.

Precisely

Denver you seem to be saying that beheading people in the street in France is just revenge, yet I seem to recall you were very animated about the Manchester bombing? what is the difference?

Yes the cartoons are not politically correct, yes it's a newspaper that is known for those cartoons. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's not. But nothing will ever justify what's happening over them. Erdogan and muslim people can be mad, if anything it will make the newspaper and the French public opinion stronger.
Full support to the families that are grieving. My sister lives close to the church, and it's pretty wild out there in a city that has already been under attack in 2016. It's sad and terrible.

Stay safe.

Me and my bf will move back to Paris once you sorted out the problem.

Hopefully soon.
