He did condemn it. The EHRC actually criticised Corbyn for getting personally involved, as he interfered to try and get the complaints dealt with more efficiently and thoroughly.

I'm not even a labour supporter, especially these days but this isn't as simplistic as it looks.

You make good points Slim.

There's times recently with this government where the media is slated and presenters condemned for interviewing aggressively on issues to government Ministers.

The view thrown out the media are disgraceful.

However, the media character assassination of Corbyn is believed in full and the condemnation is not of the press and media but Corbyn.

You have made good and strong points on here.

I'm not a Corbyn fan myself, although his policies I welcomed.
However I've never believed he is an anti-Semite.

I do think he was ineffective in the anti-Semitism issue in the party.
I still think the word sorry, rather than regret would be wiser.

However, there are those who will believe all that was presented in the media re Corbyn.
As they did too on the Miliband's Father when that disgusting assassination of his character was done too.

As for Corbyn back in the party, I expected him to be.
Personally I think he is likely to possibly step down anyway at the next election.
Not that his voters in Islington would wish or want him to.

However too, I've given up any hope of reasoned debate re Corbyn on here or with most hard-line Con supporters I know.
Although there are the more reasoned Con supporters who think he got a really tough ride.

Thank you Joey, always good to get your opinion on things, especially as you're a lot closer to the centre than I am.

I understand where you're coming from, and I agree that he perhaps wasn't as vocal about it as he could have been at times. However the press allowed a real racist and security threat into number 10 without even a question, so I sort of understand why JC didn't want anymore labour/corbyn/anti semitism headlines every day.

It was a concerted attack because his policies were dangerous to the tax avoiders, to the wealthy, and the cruel. I don't think either of the main parties will be allowed to have a leader with his views in the next 50 years, and I think this whole anti semitism lie was the warning.

I'm gutted we missed out on a genuine opportunity to reshape British society into a more caring and tolerant place.

Does it really matter? In terms of the wider picture he was pretty much done anyway; he wasn't invited into the Shadow Cabinet, and the ones close to him are all gone, so just let him sit in the backbenches, who cares

I think you'd find if I talked with you that I'm much more to the left now.

I've gone just about full turnaround from when I was in my mid teens.

I really liked and wanted Corbyn's policies to be in place.
In fact, I've said it before on here, when canvassing in December, people overall liked his policies.

They didn't however believe they could be done in one term.
To be fair to John McDonnell, he did try to say they were hoped to be achieved over 2 terms of government.

I agree, it's sad that opportunity was missed which is why I wished Labour had put forward an easier to follow brexit policy.
Because sadly, it was in a big part the brexit policy Labour presented which we just couldn't get through to voters.
