how about the girl is running away and constantly looking over her shoulder (as that is the fastest way to run for your life) and inevitably she falls over

Neighbours being completely and utterly oblivious to everything if the setting is a normal house on a normal street for example (Halloween).

I can’t fart without fear of my neighbours hearing never mind trying to fend off a masked serial killer!
