In Stirling in Scotland they have A Black Boy monument and its a famous local landmark
It commemorates the Black Death, which came to Stirling in 1369 and killed a third of the population.

The “Formerly Black Boy Lane” inscription at the bottom of the new name makes the whole thing seem redundant.

yes it does, but they have to do that until maps etc get updated, it's standard practice. It needs to be viewed in the long term rather than short term. So in 10 years or whatever it will only be known by the new name

All this was done because of the black lives matter movement.
£186 large ones in costs to us, the british tax payer. All because some American thug got knelt on for 2 long by a copper exerting his authority over the filming bystanders. At the begining the residents were all for it, but now after finding out the cost many of them on that street have put up their own signs with the old street name on them and bolted them to their houses in protest. Very fickle, imo. Last edited by Parmy; 24-01-2023 at 10:44 PM. |
