The difference is American comedy is about the optimistic American dream, whereas British is dark reality.
The American comedy actor wants to play the hero whilst the British comedy actor wants to play the failure. We're better at laughing at ourselves. We can get humour out of awkwardness, whilst the Americans find that cringy. We also don't over analize every little thing and take it too seriously, we're much more laid back. |

Hooray for Harold Lloyd
I used to watch this when I was very little. Used to be on every night around tea time on BBC 2. I must have been about 4 or 5 but I can remember it. Must have been my earliest introduction to a comedy show. |

Jeeves and Wooster ain't really a show from which you can pick "funny moments" because it's stories with funny bits, if that makes sense? Anyway, here's one of my favourite episodes.
