The message of being vigilant has been around for at least 30 years, so contrary to the thread title, it is normal, to suggest otherwise is plain wrong. Also, police were on patrol when the IRA were at their height, they were preaching vigilance then and that was 60 years ago

I would say yes in England due to the IRA but only from the 70s, prior to that no, and across Europe were there terror threats, not sure there were

even in scotland in the 70's and that was 50 years ago. I remember getting evacuated from Marks and Spencers because of a bomb threat. There were lots of threats across europe. Think of the Munich olympics in 1972

One of the most worrying things about all this is people with zero understanding of what's going on. People who are vigilant are snowflakes, apparently. The lack if awareness is staggering.
