Yes they should be allowed in the contest.
Their performers will have worked hard on a song and music.

The military action going on is nothing to do with the performers for Israel.

It's also a world away from the Russia and Ukraine war.
Russia invaded an independent Nation having had NO aggression or attack from Ukraine.
Israel has had to live for decades with hostile Nations around them, who don't just want Israel defeated but want them annihilated.
It is horrific what's going on re Israel and the Palestinians.
However until Hamas and other terrorist groups are eradicated.
The security of Israel as a Nation and it's people are always in danger of being attacked.

Despite my intense dislike of the hard-line government of Natanyahu in Israel.
I still haven't changed my position for the State of Israel and the rights of Israel and it's citizens to be able to have a safe and secure existence.

Eurovision is really a more fun evening, ignore the voting process, just enjoy the music or moan about it, laugh at or admire the performances.
Just see it as a light hearted evening and event.

Absolutely no way should Israel not be taking part, that's the kind of thing divisive groups and terrorist organisations would welcome if they were.

their performers are just literal puppets for that corrupt stench of a broadcaster KAN

Israel should no longer take part, they also invaded territory that isn't theirs but belonging to Palestine, so yes they are similar to Russia, but they can hide behind the ''you can't kick us out otherwise it is antisemitism'' victim card

I respectfully disagree Nicky.

It really isn't though anything like the Russia and Ukraine conflict.

When did Ukrainians go into Russia, then kidnap to hold hostage, and then also murder innocent people just at a social event?

not again about October 7th, how tiresome that is becoming by now

also you know what Ukraine did to justify Russia's actions, like denial of russian culture, russian language appreciation in the Donetsk, Lugansk regions

maybe we can ship Israel off to Putin's Intervision Trash, Trump's USA is also happily competing in that, you can make the three amigo bromance there, Netanyahu/Putin/Trump

I’m on the fence as in because the war going on. Like if Israel won next year it would be in Israel (well we don’t really know but what ifs apply here). Eurovision is a big gay party for the gays so it would be dangerous to host it there because it wouldn’t be safe.

If it was hosted somewhere then maybe that would change my mind

''if Israel won next year''

we all know Israel is gonna win, considering if the EBU still lets them stay, we know how high those EBU bigots are up Israel's arse

and pretty sure the act is gonna be called SOULDIERS next, of actual former IDF soldiers, more so called sympathy votes stench

but i hope they only have austria, israel, germany taking part, its what the stupid brainless EBU deserves for a nice karma

You’ve said Israel would win the contest the past two years and they haven’t.

the EBU were lucky they haven't in the last two years, otherwise eurovision would've been cancelled much sooner, because nobody wants to participate in a contest hosted in that country, as long as that regime is in power

but anyway in Asia they are laughing out loud, at the western europe being so difficult regarding expelling Israel or not

AFC had no big deal whatsoever in the 1970's with kicking them out, i mean their reason sounds very familiar to us either

If they did win it wouldn’t be hosted there. Same as when Ukraine won.

Why would it be dangerous to host it in Israel? They hosted it in 1979, 1999 and 2019. It's the only country in the Middle East where being gay is not a death sentence. There's a large gay community in Israel and while they don't currently offer gay marriage, they do recognise gay marriages carried out in other countries. They also have a trans community and hold a successful Pride festival every year. Gay people would be safer in Israel than in some eastern European countries. People are not thrown off roofs there merely because they're gay, you're thinking of Islamic countries.

All that said, if the war is still going on it would be unsafe for everyone, but let's hope it's finished by then.

I was more so saying because of the war. If the war wasn’t happening then I agree it would be safe to host there. I’m more worried about gay people being taken hostage or worse, killed by Hamas

Yeah, that would be a worry... I feel sure the war will be done by the time the competition goes ahead. I hope so anyway, I guess most people do.

My answer is a dual one. They shouldn't been allowed in the first place because they're not even in Europe. But maybe they're included because they're a Western-style nation on a close enough patch of Earth? Otherwise, we, Mexico and Canada demand we can participate.

I answered "Yes" because they're already allowed to participate. The festival is already heavily politicized and so nations protesting one another is a foregone conclusion. Let them opt out or whatever.

I thought Israel was half in Europe and half Middle East? I’m probably wrong though
