In the UK, far-right ideology now makes up a larger share of Prevent referrals than Islamist extremism. In the US, right-wing extremists account for most ideologically motivated killings over the last decade. Across Europe, far-right networks dominate terror arrests and disrupted plots.

• Left-wing extremism is not currently assessed as a comparable terror threat in the UK. It barely features in Prevent or disrupted-plot data.
• Since 2017, all domestic terror convictions linked to ideology have overwhelmingly been right-wing or Islamist, not left-wing.

Europe (Europol):
• Terror arrests and foiled plots are dominated by jihadist and right-wing extremists.
• Left-wing terrorism exists but is rare, fragmented, and low-lethality. Europol consistently categorises it as marginal compared to right-wing networks.

United States (FBI / DHS / CSIS):
• Over the last decade, right-wing extremists are responsible for the majority of ideologically motivated killings.
• Left-wing extremist violence accounts for a tiny fraction of deaths, usually involving property damage or isolated assaults, not mass-casualty attacks.

Global Terrorism Index:
• In Western countries, right-wing attacks increased multiple times over the 2010s.

You’re not challenging the facts, you’re nit-picking how they were written.

Terror threat isn’t ranked by personal preference. It’s based on convictions, plots stopped, arrests and deaths. By those measures, since 2017, UK domestic terrorism has mainly been Islamist and right-wing. That’s how the Home Office and MI5 categorise it.

Saying you’d have listed Islamist first doesn’t change the figures. It just sidesteps the point that right-wing extremism sits firmly in the data.

And people being arrested at protests isn’t terrorism. That’s public-order policing. Mixing that in only weakens your argument.

If you think the assessment is wrong, argue with the security services.
