Good effort from us but ultimately too many mistakes with the line-out and too many penalties given away. The turning point was the try not being awarded really. It was a massive effort just getting to the final and every player can be proud of their performances.

Well done to South Africa, thought they would win it.

That little boy that was sobbing carrying the cup through the tunnel has really upset me for some reason.... must be the hormones

Congrats to South Africa. In all fairness they deserved it.

We played well but they were always the better team, to be fair.

This was a good showing for the England team after some poor performances early on in the tourn. The Australia match was a really good day out and its always nice to beat them, then a win over the French made it twice as good. Beating South Africa would have been a bit strange having already been thrashed by them in the groups, so I think that made it easier to take when they beat us in the final. As for the Australia/France games, they were the highlight of a great tourn as far as Im concerned and watching the team work their arses off through those matches with so much discipline and heart was all you can ask for as a fan. Itd be nice to retain the trophy, but the best team won.
