So what was wrong with the voting? How did ITV miscount the votes or fix the result?
Did I say that? I have never said that Biggins did not deserve to win, I have named him my second choice more than once...
No but, the club is a Janice is robbed group suggesting something was taken from her that was rightfully hers. Problem is the crown wasn't hers, she didn't win it, she came second. The public voted her into the second place fair and square and unless there is something is wrong with the voting then she wasn't robbed.
Don't blame me, I didn't choose for this club to be named the "Janice Was Robbed" club...

look, myself and the other members of the club wanted Janice to win over Biggins.
What is the big problem with that.
We are not saying we diddnt like Biggins we just prefer Janice over him and consider her to be the more deserving winner.Nothing wrong with that, its our opinion.

Logic..... she wasn't robbed. She didn't have anything to take. She might have deserved to win, or she should have won, but she wasn't robbed.

No problem at all. It's just the implication that the winner stole something from her when he didn't.

If someone thought Janice deserved to win then in their opinion she was robbed. If a team played exceptionally well in a football match then lost out at penalties, you would say they were robbed. It's a figure of speech. There's nothing wrong with the thread title.

Rodney might. In that situation unlucky would be a better word to describe what happened.

But if someone thought Janice 100% deserved to win it and Biggins didn't (which Laura and the members of the group do) then there's nothing really wrong with the thread title.

When someone deserves to win at something but doesn't then victory is often described of being "robbed" from them.

But it's not the right word and opens up the thread to questions like:

"How was she robbed?"

This isn't a football game there is no luck in it, no element of chance. It's a popularity contest which she lost fair and square. Nothing was taken from her.

I can understand people upset she didn't win and wanting group together to greave their loss but to imply it was stolen from her is a bit to much.

Well, firstly I haven't joined this group. I'm just saying being "robbed from victory" is a popular expression which may describe how some people feel if they thought Janice deserved to win.

A lot of people said the twins were robbed when Brian won BB8. You cannot really answer "how was she robbed?". If it's your opinion she was robbed because she deserved it more than Biggins, than that's it.

How was she robbed? She was voted second by fair means.

Now we can go round and round like this for ages. Someone comes backs and say's "But she was the best person on the show". Then someone replies "But she was voted second so she clearly wasn't" to which they get the reply "But you must see she was robbed of the title". And around and around we go.

I guess we aren't going to agree.

It's a colloquialism that doesn't really fit. Further more it didn't fit in terms of the twins and Big Brother.

The reasons why you can't answer question "how was she robbed?" is because she wasn't robbed.

Guess we are going to have to agree to disagree about the use of the word robbed.

Good luck with the Gang.

And well done to the winner for winning the show. Wasn't his fault he got more votes.

I don't think you understand the meaning of the phrase. Like with most expressions, it isn't meant to be taken literally. How would you answer a football team were robbed from victory? Because they played better in the match. And Janice, well she was more entertaining (matter of opinion obviously) on the show. I'll agree to disagree, but it is a colloquial expression which doesn't have literal meaning. It isn't a fact she was robbed, like the phone votes were rigged if that's what you're getting at. It's peoples' opinions and someone who's an avid fan of Janice will say she was robbed and someone who is a fan of Biggins would say she wasn't. It all comes down to who you think deserved it.

Oh but I do and this isn't football. Football has elements of both skill and luck. I can see how the term can be used for a side that dominated a game through skill for 89 minutes and is unlucky enough to lose a match from a unlucky break in a the last minute. In that case I see how it could be used by Rodney Marsh etc...

However, this is a popularity contest and people clearly didn't think Janice was a worthy winner for whatever reason. There is no luck, no element of chance. It's just a phone vote.

I think you last line sums it up... "It all comes down to who you think deserved it."... and I feel the key words are "deserved it". Now that fits people opinions "Janice deserved it", which she might have done she certainly changed as the show went on into a nicer person even if she didn't win it. She was entertaining at times. She did well in the task set her. Thing was she didn't win the vote.

We are not going agree and I'm off to bed or this could go on all night.

Nigh all.

Everyone, stop getting carried away by Janice not winning. I supported her through the show, but couldn't care less if she won or not. Its not as if its the end of the world because she lost out to Biggins.

God, this is the twins not winning BB all over again, groan.

People are allowed to be disappointed that Janice didn't win. If you don't like it then don't post in this thread.

Im not saying you cant be, but I am saying the British public wanted Biggins to win, and theres no turing back the clock.

Isnt a forum a place of opinion?
