It was the biggest mistake of my life to go into IT all those years ago. You have to keep your skill set up to date and most companies wont help you to do it.

That's true. They don't want to invest in people, and then wonder why they move somewhere else.

Some people are loyal, but these days just about every company leaves you to up date your skill on your own.

Maybe if they invested in their staff, then they would have more loyal employees.

Indeed. Modern companies are often run like a corner shop with little planning or insentive for workers.
