When they say that BB:CH got low ratings. Wouldn't that have been because it was on e4, and a lot of people don't have digital yet.?

15 million people own a freeview box.
8 million people own a sky box and goodness knows how many people have virgin. And this was the figures at the end of 2007.

So at least 23 million+ people had the oppotunity to watch.

ratings dipped below 300,000 and that was for an eviction show. I believe that the endless Friends repeats got better viewers then that.

So yes I do believe that BB:CH was a flop, E4 were expecting this show to put the channel on the map for the digital switchover. I think one person was hoping that BB:CH would help deliver E4 ITV2 stlye ratings! Well at least E4 had Skins, until C4 started to air it aswell.

That eviction got 300,000 because it was up aggainist EE which got over 10 million that night. But generally it averaged 700,000 which is good for E4.

Every week at least one show was in the Top 10 E4 multi channel list on Barb.

No matter what excuses people give , Celebrity Hijack was a flop in the ratings. Simple as.

But doing after the switchover wouldn't make a difference to the ratings, only about 10% of the country doesn't have digital so when they get it they aren't going to make a difference.

Not one today. Shame I am still more interested in a themed advert ala 'Black Friday' to show the changes made this year.

it still doesn't matter. BB:CH got exceptionally good ratings for an E4 show. Had it been on channel4, the series would have achieved a much higher level of viewers.

The fact is that C4 wanted a low key winter edition in order to create anticipation and bring BB9 back with a bang!

I think RichardBB4 is trying to talk about a promo with a theme "a la 'Black Friday'"

Thats been advertised loads this week, there could be a countdown advert tonight during it. I expect it to get around 3.5m so we could see an advert.

As its already been mentioned alot of gay and female viewers will watch it which is Big Brother's target audience. I am feeling confident about seeing a countdown advert tonight now.

There won't be a countdown tonight because C4 haven't confirmed launch night yet as there has been no press pack!
