I really don't know what to think of it. I HATED Now You're Gone. This is ok, but far from good in my opinion. Very far.

Says who?

Also, its pointless judging Basshunter from an intelectual perspective. Its just loud , dumb mainstream techno. Its a bit like trying to find meaning in a Britney Spears lyric or something. You gotta take it for what it is.

Also , this aint no rave. This is nothing more than shoody mainstream techno designed to appeal to 13 year old's at their 13 year old's disco. Look up some late 90's trance. Thats some proper stuff.
I'm sorry, the one thing in Britney's lyrics are always meaning.
Must be deep meanings then. Very personal. I take it she has written them?
She co-wrote a few tracks on her latest album, but back in the day she wrote a lot of her songs. Look at the Britney album for her actual song writing.

I don't blame her for not writing much with her recent album, she had a hectic year. But there is meaning in her songs.
Such a hectic year that putting pen to paper in a bid for artistic creativity is out of the question?

Besides which , loads of artists draw their inspirations from bad events and 'hectic years'.

Enjoy it for the pop music that it is all you want but no track of hers is renowned for its thought provoking lyrics. Each to their own but if you find deep meaning on more than just two topics in any of her songs , I dont know how you do it .
Huh? I'd rather she rebuild her life and get her kids back (which she has managed to do, partly) rather than trying to please someone who struts onto the internet to question her musical abilities. I'd rather see her happy in life than down and depressed and having to incorporate it into her music.

She's not a very open person so it isn't surprising she hasn't written down her problems in the form of a song. She doesn't do TV appearances/interviews - so what did you expect? If I had the year she had I wouldn't walk around telling everyone of it - everyones pretty much read about it anyway.

If you want to hear songs about her personal life then go and listen to Piece of Me or Why Should I Be So Sad? they all have deep meanings. She's not bloody Amy Winehouse who only sings about depressing stuff.

What a diatribe. Your one of those obsessed fans who thinks they know the ins and outs of their favourites stars personal life , right?

Your argument fails straight away as you are making assumption after assumption.

Want a guided tour?

Assumption 1 : She is specificaly trying to please me by writting songs [Were you trying to be funny or clever? Because this fails on both those counts].

Assumption 2 : Im questioning her musical abilities [Im not , im questioning 'her' lyrics. You can tell the difference between music and lyrics , cant you?].

Assuption 2 : [I love this one] - ''Shes not Amy Winehouse who only sings about depressing stuff''. Things dont have to be depressing to be interesting.

All I was originaly saying was that the lyrics in Britney songs are hardly integral , as they are not in all pop songs. The lyrcis aint exactly great compared to most good music [or whats left of it] out their.

I just find none of her [or whoever 'co-writes' the lyrics with her] cliched stuff interesting WHATSOEVER. Pop lyrics will be pop lyrics. Theirs no defending them , their nothing special.

Now can I ask why you are defending her so badly? Considering I was originaly only making a comparison about how you should not take Basshunter seriously [true] and how you should not take Britneys lyrics seriously [also true].

Its Britney Spears. Pop music , where lyrics take a backseat. Its not Dark Side Of The Moon for goodness sake.

[And I guess after that , we come full circle to Basshunter , the point of the topic].

I "know the ins and outs" of her personal life? I'm more interested in Britney Spears the entertainer than Britney Spears "Pop Wreck".

Assumption 1: Please you? All I said was I'd rather have her writing something more happier than depressing about her personal life. And I wasn't being "funny or clever" - I was clearly stating an opinon.

Assumption 2: Of course they don't, but you were saying how her lyrics don't have any meaning - when they do - but they aren't all depressing. I said Amy Winehouse, however, does write about depressing stuff.

Pop is pop - as you say - it doesn't have to be taken seriously, all I was trying to say was that Britney's songs do have meaning. Especially the ones she wrote.

I'm just extremely defensive of her. I've been a fan since she came out so obviously seeing her go through what was she has, it makes me even more defensive. I constantly see people call her a "train wreck", "a mess", "a fat pig" - and I'm always defending her. I don't see whats wrong with supporting someone - especially when I know she's neither of them.

AND! I never ever mentioned how her lyrics were the dark side of the moon! I just said that lately you've probably seen what her life has become and you asked why she couldn't build influence from it into her song writing. So I said she doesn't open about it....I'd rather her to the usual cheese pop she's known for...but that doesn't sell anymore...so what ever she chooses to sing about, I'll support her for.

and yes, I do like the Basshunter song. It's good.

All you said was you would rather have her writing something more happier than depressing about her personal life? I think you missed out on the part where you said ''to please one person on the internet''. That person , of course , being me. Dont say somehting if your going to cover it up later. It was a pointless assumption.

As for meaning : Such as? Because from what I have seen almost all of her songs are just cheesey pop songs no different to any other cheesey pop song , they just happen to be supplemented by her personality. I doubt any lyric in a Britney song touches upon the same emotions , nerves , or wordly issues touched upon by proper musical groups. But thats what pop music is , I guess.

I cannot see why you are so defensive of her , I call it cult of personality , but rest assured im not here to pass judgement on her social and/or personal life. I will leave that to the press that hounds her.

Also I was not drawing a litteral comparison between her lyrics and The Dark Side Of The Moon , as in the big rock in the sky. I was drawing comparison between the boring , typeset , uninspired lyrics in pop songs [like most of Britneys] and inspired , logical , intelligent , grown up , thought provoking lyrics in a good record [like Dark Side Of The Moon , again , the album , not the rock in the sky].

Yep I do. I just love all sorts of music apart from metal and most rock.
