I agree. Islam is a very strict religion and I think she did actually have a point, the fact is what he did was wrong in Islamic law without a doubt. However he is a fully grown man who is capable of making his own decisions, he knows the rules of his religion and whether or not he chooses to obey them is his choice. Alex is certainly in no place to to be telling anyone about "disgracing" people. She does not practice as a muslim properly at all and overally is probably the one who bring the most shame on ANY religion especially her own.

Who heard God say that men should not wear women's clothes and vice-versa?!
I think this religion matters are sickening!
God does not want people to kill people either, but how many have been killed in the name of religion?

Alex is a hypocrit! She does not behave like a muslim and I just wish Mo could really put her in her place, although I was proud of him for standing up to her!
Isn't there something in the Islam where women are not supposed to show their hair in public? Where is Alex's head scarf? On the contarry, she is absolutely obessed about her hair!

Excellent point.

Alex seems to have an issue du jour to rile housemates. What Mo did was totally against the rule of Islam but she has absolutely no right to make such an issue out of it. She dresses in short skirts, wears make up and totally flouts the rules herself.

I think her persistance and her unwillingness to let go was more due to the diary room incident. She knew Mo was not saying nice things about her and, in Alex's world, thats a good enough reason to go to war. She is such a caricature.

religion is for idiots, no joke

It's funny when people talk about 'double standards'. Of course there are 'double standards' otherwise the world would be without human beings.

I agree Mo was having and joking about, its Alex trying to isolate him from the group using religion as an excuse, and i'm a muslim convert myself.

This is a misconception, some of those muslims make everything haram without even checking what the Koran says. as a joke its ok but only time it is against Islam if you do it it to hurt people.

Islam is the true religion, no wonder why millions choose to convert to it.

i didin't think it was that much of a big deal! I mean like he said, he smokes and drinks, so cross dressing wont make much of a difference.

Excuse me to say so but you'll see it's not right for a Muslim to do so and I know what I am talking about, my girlfriend is a Muslim (However I'm not) and we talked about those type of things a billion times.
I am not saying he shouldn't because my girlfriend also drinks and doesn't wear the Islamic outfit but from the religion's point of view, the man is supposed to be the strongest one.
Of course he is enjoying himself but I can understand why Alex was shocked by his attitude: a man must not wear woman's clothes.

I agree that she is hardly the epitome of any religion, and certainly doesn't abide by any Islamic rules I've heard of.

And the hair issue is a bit misunderstood - in Islam, women are required to dress modestly, but don't necessarily have to cover their hair with headscarves. I think this has come about as more of a cultural issue, or really strict Islamic states where women are oppressed.

Every religion is strict however in Quran Allah gave free choices to everyone, so if a person doesn't follow the guidlines it will be judged in life after death, nowhere does Allah gives the power to a man or anyone to judge and make them forcfully follow Allah's command, its choice and will be dealt with in the afterlife.

Then she is wrong IMO, in the Quran a man is given responsibility, not superiority, which means a man should look after his wife and children, earn for them because bioligically a man is physically stronger so he has been given his duty to perform it, and guide them, but he cant force them if they disobey him, thats all in the Quran that force and dictatorship is prohibited, only he should guide them. Smoking isn't neccessarily prohibited but it discouraged. Drinking though is completely prohibited.

You basically proved my point without being aware of. You just said the man was stronger and was responsible of his family.
And I'd rather trust my girlfriend who was born as a Muslim than you, who are trying to convert but it's not the question.
I never said smoking was prohibited, it is not encouraged unlike drinking which is just bad but a lot of young Muslims do not respect that rule no more.

Indeed, the head scarf is given in the holy Quran but it is also stated as a personal choice, but its the culture and some misguided country make strict.

Yes Biolgically he is stronger so he can perform his duty better, he has 100% financial obligation to his wife, a wife can work if she wishes in the community according to Islam buts its not compulsory, but a choice and all her earnings is hers and she doesn't have spend the money as God has made a husband responsible for the financial aspect.

When i started this topic i was horrified but obviously not surprised at that womans attack on Mo. Oh the hypocrisy of it all.
3 days later i can't believe i allowed myself to be drawn into the world of such a vile sleazebag of the gutter.
Now i couldn't give a sh*t about her or her many opinions. She means nothing to me.
Strangely enough Croydon was never to high up on my list places to visit anyway
