Spike, I'm with you on your opinion, I don't beleive in god either. I'm completely non religious. But you have to not be so narrow minded and offence to the people that do. You can't just go around thinking yours is the only opinion that matters.

but on this subject to me, its only my opinion which matters because if people take a step back they must see that religion is just a wasted of time and false hope
If we look over the thousands of years especially in areas like medicine people have realised more and more that God doesn't play a apart and its only a matter of time until people realise God plays no part in life and that will probably be when we die.
People who believe in those lies need something in their life and that is religion so I respect them for that. But I will not respect any religion ever because there is no proof in the world that these lies are in fact true.

I am against Halal meat, unfortunately I have to eat a halal turkey for xmas this year =/
We kill animals very humane these days, we use a Stun gun to paralyze the animal and send it in a coma so they are completely unaware with what is happening then the throats are slit. You cant get more humane than that, no pain, no panic for the animal. To them they are dead as soon as they get stunned.

Spike- IMO you're incredibly closed minded to religion. There is no proof God exists, and there is no proof that he doesn't exist therefore you cannot state it as a fact. There is just as much evidence on each side to suggest otherwise. For God's existence include miracles and the fact that Jesus did exist, but against is science. Then again, science doesn't know everything.

Don't worry Spike. You'll be relieved to see the video below of the conditions that animals bred for food (as well as entertainment and clothing) have to endure.

There's no point trying to explain things to you because you're set in your opinion and refuse to see that your opinion is NOT the only one that matters. You've offended me by what you've said in this thread.

Well yes... 100% thats like saying you will die eventually.. why bother giving you quality of life... in the food chain in nature they aren't locked up in a farm etc so get life until they die or are eaten... so we should keep that going

I liked veggie burgers for a while, but I have gone off them completely now! I like the sweetcorn, peppers and onion burger thingies they make, but only on BBQ's

Because we're "above them" (according to you) in the food chain - and are therefore supposedly more intelligent / civilised and can therefore choose not to inflict cruelty & suffering on them can't we?

Watch this and then come back & tell me what you think.

If you still think it's ok to treat other living creatures in that way read this and then make an appointment to see your doctor.

[WARNING: For those of a compassionate nature the above video is pretty disturbing. Graphic scenes of animal cruelty etc]

Well said, Leonine. You always know your argument is good when the person who started the thread doesn't respond to it.

I really am sorry, I meant to put a warning on it actually (which i've now done) 'cause of its graphic nature. I remember it had the same effect on me when i first watched it & stayed with me for days. But on a positive note - I knew i could never ever again eat meat after watching it so not all bad!

I know most people will say they should be treated well but what are your thoughts on this?
But, If a animal is treated badly it can reflect in the taste of its meat.
All animals should be treat well whether there grown to be made into food or not. All animals deserve to live a nice life, wouldn't you like to be?
So what if there below us on the food chain, they still deserve to be treated fairly.
