I like how you've edited your first post without saying you made a mistake, in order to try and make me look stupid.

album artists?
Either way, nearly everyone in that list deserves a number #1 much more than half the rubbish that gets there nowadays.

Voted for Green Day.
Truly. Amazing.
Album Artists = an artist who has huge singles who sell loads but whos albums flop

Singles artist = the oppisite
...Foo Fighters, Green Day, Kelly Clarkson and Linkin Park have all had No#1 albums...perhaps more than one. I don't see how their albums flop?
All the artists I listed in Poll are generally Album Artists.

They have better sales with their albums though, more people buy their music for a whole album not a few singles, like eg. Girls Aloud, who most people buy an occasional song of theirs but don't buy their album.
I'm not sure if you know but the majority of Girls Aloud fans [and Popjusticed, lol] rave about the albums as a whole and how they are so consistent with such worthy single material in them. Bad example imo, soz.

Smashing Pumpkins should have got many number ones.

On the list, Foo Fighters.

not really ghetto. Girls aloud don't sell that many albums in comparison to many other artists. They are more about high selling singles, not albums. (so good example).

All the artists in Poll have sold many many more millions of Albums than Girls Aloud will ever achieve. That's not a dig at them, but it's true. For a start they don't have much of a worldwide fanbase outside of UK.

If that is not the most pathetic statement I've heard in the past five years, I don't know what is.
He's correct though.

&&KKBL, Most of those artists have been successful in both? Moreso albums, which would be the opposite of what you said.
And what's the definition of REAL music?
Just because the music today has dramatically changed and has become more and more dependant on computers does not mean that it is rubbish, music changes over time.

I don't think you ghett what I'm saying. You said people are more interested in their occassional single but infact "what I said earlier.. And you can't say they are more about high selling singles considering you can't really make a profit off them, they promote their albums to death to therefore tour with that album to make profits.

And yes, obviously, because the girls are a UK artist who haven't promoted in US whatsoever.

Lol, I sound like I'm having a go but I just really am obsessed by Girls Aloud.

IMO; Real Music is unique. It's real instruments, real voices, songs written from the artist's heart [even if it's not just them, if they've contributed to the lyrics, and credited for it, then fine] and that's different to the generic chart stuff. I'm not saying that because a song has been edited by a computer that it's not real, but when a computer's been used to auto-tune the voice, to replace instruments, using a drum machine instead of a drum kit, it just starts to sound ridiculously fake.

Obviously you're opinion will be different but that's my definition of real music.

people are though interested in their occasion single. Fans love evryone, but most people will only ever buy the ocassional one that they like, yet will not buy their album. Overall their single sales are not extremely high per single. But enough in the first few weeks to see them gain a high chart position (this does not go for every single, eg. Sound of the Underground)

LOL what complete and utter ****.
It's not. Most singers & bands now don't even know how to play a triangle properly and rely on computers to make their voices sound decent. I'm not saying its rubbish, because dance/rave is my fav type of music and it's all done with computers and stuff but you can't deny it.

btw, I voted Foo Fighters.

a GA album has never passed Platinum(200,000).yet alot of their singles have.i think the point hes making is when a GA single comes out most people would download/buy the single instead of the album.
