Religions in the main is all about controlling people en mass....Make them fear some imaginary god and some will do anything even kill...

Religion is the worlds greatest curse and we would be well rid of such brain washed societies....

Religious instituitions love getting them as young as possible to groom the young and vuneranble minds in to believeing what ever brand of religious stuff and nonesense they want to afflict children with....So that the control freak delusionary maddness is handed down from generation to generation...

Thats a very stereotypical/generalist view. More people than you think are religious who you wouldn't even guess.

Then clearly you have no idea about the types of people who are religious. Only extremists are how bananarama explains, yet its an accepted view of all religious people? I know a hell of a lot of people who are religious yet by looking at them or being around them you'd never guess they were because they don't preach and don't come across as brainwashed. Religion is a lot broader and has a lot more types of people than people realise

It's nothing to do with what types of people are religious its about how people become religious....Religion in the main is educated brainwashed endoctrenated all depending on the extremity of the tutors.....From religious societies or institutions or simply faith addicted parents....Either way the minds of children are abused by taking advantage of their gullability in believeing in what elders tell them....

Religion should be "X" rated like porn......Children should not be allowed near it until they are old enough to have free minds and free choices to be able to accept or reject such a complex and controversial adult subject...

Rubbish. Theres a difference between talking and brainwashing. Children are told about religions, its then up to them what decision they make. They don't have to be religious if they don't want to be. Children naturally question things, its nowhere near as black and white as you're trying to make out.

I totally agree with you, Tom.
Surely it's not everyone else's concern if people want to believe in something, people don't go around shouting at kids "SANTA'S NOT REAL! PROVE HE IS! SEE! AHAHAHAAA GUTTED", so I don't see why it should be acceptable for people to be basically interrogated about their beliefs, whether they're agreed with or not

What is complete rubbish my friend is that you seem to approve of gullable trusting minds being abused by grooming adults. Shame on you.....

Nah, just that you're very close minded and have a set opinion on things you aren't willing to change. You also clearly have no experience of religion and being in one, so really who are you to say what goes on and how people become religious in the first place? Its all a bit stereotypical and I'm finding it quite laughable that you think what you do tbh

I'm a catholic...
Well I should be...
I just gave up around Year 8... I don't like beliving in something that I find hard to commit to with such crap evidence...
I would wish for the clergy in the vatican in rome to go into it and rip out the scrolls they are hiding..
They will have so many answers...
Is Jesus Real..?
Is God real...?
If it isn't, why was it made up..?
If it is, what is the meaning of all of it...?

I know they are scared if it all isn't real the christian church will go up in an uproar... but people who are putting they heart, trust and faith into a religion for most of their lives deserve Real answers...

I always find it interesting when people are brought up as a religion and then think about it at a certain age and decide not to. How were the family dynamics when you told your parents that you'd lost faith?

[that sounds really up myself and stupid, i basically mean what did your parents say when you told then ]

The bad thing is I was in secondary school when I just gave up so I still go to a catholic school.... R.E class 4 times a week.
Angry.
But they live with it now.. they told me later they were angry because I wasted so much time not being (Going to sound cheesy) true to myself? *Don't know how to put it*

Sorry.. its the best way I can put it. LOL

I think religion is a way to live your life and how you perceive death: each religion has their own ideas of death.

Religion is also a comfort to some people as death is a scary thing, (to most anyway).

I'd say I'm agnostic - I think it would be nice to have faith in a religion but studying philosophy has completley ****ed up my mind, hahah.
