There are lots of calls for McCain to get rid of Palin now, even from the far right, who you would think would be her main supporters. As an Obama fan, I sincerely hope that he does NOT get rid of her! Obama is still ahead in the polls, with a comfortable lead.

BTW, has everyone seen the video of Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin?

I don't wont him to get rid of Palin, I really like her
hopefully she will do well in the debate but if she doesn't then maybe it would be best for him to get rid of her and show he is a strong man who can make tough decisions.

it's a no-win situation for him. A lot of people want her out because she is useless, but people are also saying that if he gets rid of her now, it shows that he is not capable of making good decisions for picking her in the first place (after all, you would assume that someone would put a hell of a lot of thought into who he would pick for his running mate).

Did you see that interview which Palin did with Katie Couric? It was even funnier than the spoof video which I posted above. She was floundering terribly.

CNN had 12000 emails in 45 minutes, a huge majority of which say that Palin should step down. The Katie Couric interview was a disaster for her. McCain is also coming under a lot of fire for picking someone who was clearly incapable.

Yeah true, but McCain must way up the situation and see which decision would be the biggest loss for his campaign. I think the republican camp will have really prepared her for the debate and one good performance off her and the situation could be fixed
I did see the interview and it wasn't good for Palin, its the first interview I have seen where I have thought just shut up!

If she doesn't pull off a few good performances in the next few days then I think the best situation would be for her to step down. It doesn't make McCain look as bad as if he had of got rid of her.

Well, that would be my initial thought also. However, if she steps down now, people will still know that it is because she is doing badly.

I'm not sure she will do well in the debate. You would think they would have prepared her well, but who knows?

It's worth repeating again that since being named as VP nominee, Biden has now done around 100 interviews with press/journalists. Sarah Palin has done....3. I saw two of them (Katie Couric and Charles Gibson), and she performed terribly on both of them.

What is really surprising is that current stats show a less than 1% chance of McCain winning all the states that Bush won in 2004. The states that Bush won easily and which should be staunch Republicans are not looking good for McCain.

In Virginia, Obama is up currently by 1.4 points. Bush won that in 2004 by 8.2 points. (The last time a Democrat won in this state was 1964).

Florida is currently tied. Bush won that in 2004 by 5 points.

North Carolina has Obama up by 0.7 points (still statistically a tie). Bush won in 2004 by 12.4 points.

In Indiana, McCain is up by 2.3 points. In 2004, Bush won it by over 20 points.

Colorado - Obama is currently up by 5 points. Bush won it in 2004 by 4.7 points.

New Mexico has Obama up by 6 points. Bush won by 1 point in 2004.

McCain wants to be dictator, not president

In the first minute of the video..."If I were a dictator, which I will always aspire to be..."

The McCain campaign is in freefall (yippee)! My hubby is getting up at 2.00am to watch the Biden/Palin debate, as he has a day off tomorrow. I wish I could get up and watch it, but I'm at work tomorrow, so he is under strict instructions to record it!

I wonder what gaffes she will come out with? I know they will have prepped her as well as possible, but you would think they would have prepped her for the Couric and Gibson interviews, and look how they turned out!

Just watched the debate, Palin was much better than I expected and probably won the debate.
Bidden didn't do badly and no harm to the Obama campaign but he didn't really deliver.

Palin won the debate?????!!!!!! You're joking, surely? Even Fox News (which is unbelievably right wing) said that while she did better than expected, she did NOT win the debate.

And yes, she did do better than expected. But considering everyone expected her to do appallingly badly, that's not saying a lot.

I've been checking sites and news channels for much of the morning, and nobody else yet seems to think that she won. Remember - doing better than awful is not equal to winning
