In terms of the incestuous relations, though... he's crazzzzzzzzed.

And survival of the fittest ethos to do with sex was developed by the Evolutionary Psychs rather than Freud, he only dabbled in it slightly.

Personally I'm with the neuropsychologists. Sex gives us pleasure, which increases serotonin, which makes us want to do it more & more.... & more.

Edit: Omg. I just managed to make sex sound boring.

Lauren, how on earth did you make sex sound boring???

But I agree with the neuropsychology aspect of it. That's what I believe anyway.

Can't say I pay any attention to Freud's theories. I just think for myself.

In my opinion easily the most sensible reply on this thread....A person who thinks for himself instead of absorbing pre historic crap like blotting paper absorbs ink.....Well done keep up the independence and stay far away from the dribble of psychology teaching based on loony bin theories of theory obsessed junkies......

I think most people think for themselves and critically evaluate any theory thats how we learn, I dont see anyone here soaking up things mindlessly. have you studied Psychology? Just because some people come up with some crazy theories once in a while doesnt mean a whole branch of science should be confined to the loony bin! How do you think we could have discovered the things we have and evolved without Science and "theory obsessed junkies"? Or would you rather we were still praying to the monkey god and beating our clubs on the floor? What you just said is dribble!

Have you personally found out that the World isn't flat? Or isn't square? Have you done all of that work to discover this? No?... then why do you passively accept that this is the case.

Psychology is a science. We critically evaluate it (using our own independent thought) and we bounce ideas off of each other. We conduct experiments to prove beliefs and make inferences on others.

The "dribble" you speak of was conducted by people with independent thought.

Psychology has plenty of practical applications in society aswell...psychological profiling is very effective in catching criminals for one, more effective at treating mental health problems than chucking pills down peoples throats, amongst others. It not all about theory for theories sake, theres a practical problem to be solved at the end of it! JeeZ

So you don't listen to any theories or explanations, and the only things you count to be knowledge are the things you have yourself experienced or done?

Thought not.

I think we are motivated by sex, it's the most natural thing.
Even Adam and Eve had sex, and they didn't even know what it was (if they existed).

The whole world is motivated by sex, and it's true the most funniest jokes are about sex, and the smallest thing could always be made into something to do woth sex.
