I dont see anything wrong with this thread and i certainly didnt think it was childish. Ben is a grown man who is gay and knows a lot of gay guys.
He was only interested to see what people liked the most. I dont see a problem in that. He certainly wasnt attacking anyone or anything. And there are sterotypes in each sexuality. He was just interested in seeing what we thought about the gay sterotypes.

People always bracket people by stereotypes for personality, thats how we establish who we like/don't like for everything from friends, celebrities, Big brother etc.

All i wanted to know is about the Gay guy side of personality.
That is not reinforcing stereotypes, or segregating gay guys.

The whole reason I started this thread is because me and my mates the other day were talking about how Gay guys are portrayed in the media as always bitchy, camp queens, and how this makes a lot of people hate gay guys. And we all said that there are so many different personalities with gay men, more than the media portrays, so I wanted to know what people found they preferred.

This isn't a thread casting stereotypes over gays and straights, just a mere curiousity into people's opinions and thoughts.

Bears, Twinks, Studs etc. That happens with most of the gay world, and they are happy with that (not saying I am), but even Gaydar reinforces these stereotypes, and many gay guys use Gaydar and promote these labels, which are based on looks.
