how could you give up considering, she gave a good performance even though she was still quite ill!
xD
It has nothing to do with the fact the performance wasn't good.
ok

but..you see she wouldnt even be allowed to perform if she wasnt healthy enough!

and she was fine!
she was quite ill and still was able to put on a good performance! *although her weakest*

Diana was going to perform regardless, even Simon said tonight that she wasn't well enough.

She wasn't fine at all, anyone saying that is kidding themselves.

If singing last week could've damaged her vocal tract last week, then I think the producers were playing a dangerous game by letting her perform this week too.

I'm not a Diana fan, and I still have my reservations about it being severe laryngitis, but I'd hate to see the girl risk her voice for the rest of her life?

All contestants have had bad days and songs. This was Diana's time, and it was okay imo considering she was ill.

Its afterwards that people will realise how ordinary she is!

I know, but it was her decision to perform, she didnt want to leave the competition, she said in her VT, "Im going to perform, voice or no voice"

I appreciate that, but last week their decision not to let her perform was because of the longterm effects of it. Since they since confirmed it was severe laryngitis, means she'd have had it this week too - and again it could cause severe longterm effects.
They shouldn't have let her take that risk.

I know what you are saying..... I think it's more that if she didn't sing she was going go so she had to sing.... and that is how it was put to her.

I don't think she really had any choice but to sing tonight, even if she shouldn't have for her own health.

I'm saying this as unbiased as possible, cos I'm not a fan of hers.

I think if she sings the next few weeks, she will get far in the competition but she's hindering her chances of a career post-xfactor, because it will no doubt do damage to her vocal tract.

If she quits now (which I don't want to say I want her to do, because it will sound like I'm just being bitter LOL) she won't be damaging her voice and I think she has a good chance of a bright career afterwards because she has an existing and loyal fanbase.

By the way, Billy is obviously a fan of Diana's. He is probably just concerned about her long term career! Some people obviously didt quite get that!

Yeah I agree. I'd say he's more of a fan than most people, the fact he's considering her future career rather than getting further on TXF.

So you'd rather her give up on her dream than fight for what she wants, if she wants to be there than she should

I do wonder how long she will a last as a big seller of albums. I can see her doing well for the first album and then a lot of the loyal fans will find something else that's fashionable to like and desert her.

Of course the fan base she is left with will keep buying her stuff and go to see her, but she won't ever equal the success of her first album.

The problem with being contemporary is you can soon become out of date.

Yes I would, if it means she isn't going to damage her voice.
