Sure you can, because a lot of them do. And that tends to be the **** way in which the world works. Unfortunately, and as unfair as it can be, stereotypes have to come form somewhere and have to have some basis in truth.

everything uu have just named there isnt a chav!
anyone can play music on the bus. the emos music is probz just as loud on the buses well here anyways. everyone swears:S. people coming out of a pub that r drunk r on the streets haa. not just chavs tho because if chavs walk past skaters then skaters shout insults! basically uu r using the stereotype but then its not really just chavs is it!
I don't know where you live but that doesn't happen where I live. I missed out the wearing of trackies, hair gelled to their heads, and constantly smoking weed. A chav to me, in my opinion, when tbh there is no specific definition of chav, but chavs to me are the pathetic useless people that take money from the dole and never have a job and they live to make everyones lives worse.
right ok i do see your point, but uu cant just assume every chav is the same. not all emos slit their wrists[y.
No I agree, I have friends who wear trackies and swear a lot and all that. But I dont call them Chav's because they just dont come accross as chavs. When you see a chav you know if they are a chav or not.

Chavs anger me to the core. They are violent, ignorant scum with no ambitions or education, therefore no job, claiming from the government, wasting tax payer's money on booze and weed, while shouting at and insulting people they pass in the streets. Thety're ****ing scum and all deserve to be shot. Fact.

I dont wear tracksuits and I smoke weed almost everyday. Im not a Chav though .

All that I am saying is a lot of Chav's are scum. I agree, not all of them are, and im sure you have friends who are not, but the ones who are scums innevitably end up getting stereotyped.

You might notice it is always the negative aspects of a subculture that bring forth the stereotypes, ruining it for everybody else .

yup exactley. because if one person classed as a chav does something then all other chavs or people who people class as "chavs" all get labelled too.

Yet its not Emos parading the streets in gangs, beating the **** out of poor innocent people, stabbing teenagers & taking them away from their families is it? It's the scum that are known as Chavs, the disgusting species that don't even deserve to live, let alone going out causing terror on the streets.

For the record, assuming both the Chav and the Emo were both non-violent, I would rather be trapped in a well with the Chav. A lot more down to earth, and they might have a jay .

Although not all of them, chavs are a major problem when you see knife and gang crimes on the television it isn't emos or goths commiting them. I myself wear what could be called chavvy clothes regurlary as my preferred taste of clothes aren't really suitable for a college day. I'm not saying all chavs are violent but ENOUGH of them are, the only time anyone's ever shouted insults at me in the streets were chavs.

It basically means low class.

Many think they're from America's West Cost (Side) and are in gangs.

What a Chav is to me is a person who is someone who is low class, loud, disruptive behavior, off their heads, swearing loudly, playing music loudly on the bus, can't talk properly (Talking really common, and sort of gangsta?), causing trouble, violent, as well as the obvious wearing of matching tracksuit top and bottoms, gold chains, bandanas, burberry.

To me, they're just idiots.

Where I'm from, a chav is someone violent and in a gang.

Emos keep to themselves. I have no problem with them. If they want to stay depressed and miserable, I couldn't care less. They aren't bothering anyone. Chavs have ruined Britain and are costing the country. They are useless to society. As someone pointed out, they are in gangs, and do psychical harm to society.
