Its typically seen as the night which shows are moved to before they get cancelled as they aren't good enough to be in a better slot on another night
So ABC obviously have no faith in the show and look set to be getting rid of it after season 4

Who knows. A handful of ABC shows don't make it through the fall season. It's such a shame because UB is one of ABC's best comedies.

ABC also announced that it is moving “Ugly Betty” to Friday nights at 9, where it will compete against “Dollhouse” on Fox. In recent years, Friday has been where networks sometimes send underperforming series to die, but Mr. McPherson said the move does not indicate a loss of faith in the viability of “Ugly Betty.”

“I love the show,” he said. “But you look at what it’s done on Thursday nights, and I think we have a great opportunity with ‘Flash Forward,’” the new drama that will be featured at 8 p.m. Thursdays. “Sometimes you have to make some bold moves.”
