Pixie Lott is planning to release her debut single on June 8, but before Mama Do propels her so fast into Stardom that she won’t talk to us, we pinned her down for a quickie.


Hello there pretty, how are things going in your lovely world?

Fantastic, I'm really excited, things are finally starting to happen.


To anyone who hasn’t heard of you yet, how would you describe your sound?

Soulful pop with elements of rn'b and retro but still kept very contemporary and fresh - a good combination!


Tell us a bit about the inspiration behind your foxy new record…

I take influences from all different great musicians.


If you were going to give us just one song of yours to listen to so that you would become our new favourite singer, what would it be?

"Cry Me Out" as I love to sing it live, I can really get into the character of it.


If you could cover another musician’s song, what would it be?

"Love Come Down" by Evelyn "Champagne" King


And can you sum up your good self in just five words?

My friend who I'm sitting with now says, "I'm funny, spontaneous, kind, dazed and manic" haha!




What makes you stand out from the crowd?

I'm passionate and you can see how much I love and enjoy when I perform.


You know we’re having a bit of an economic crisis here at the moment, if people wanted to spend their last £10 on a cd this weekend, why should they buy yours?

It promises not only fun uptempo tracks but emotional songs that people can relate to.


What three bands would you have to headline your dream festival?

Kings of Leon, MGMT and Boyz ll Men.


What has been your favourite musical memory to date?

Seeing Mariah Concert perform live in New York.


Who do you think is the greatest artist around at the moment?

James Morrison.


If you could only listen to one CD for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Motown Classics.


Okay, now we want to ask you some random questions; On an airplane you are talking pleasantly to a person of average appearance. Unexpectedly, the person offers you $10, 000 (£5, 000) for one night of sex. Knowing there is no danger and that payment is certain, would you accept the offer?

Name an experience which features an animal that you will never forget.

A dream where I was in a room with loads of crabs and I was trying to get out - it freaked me out! I want to look up crabs in a dream book to see what it means.

What one thing did you always want as a child but never get?

A little white fluffy puppy.

Windsor parents did not need to persuade their children to get up for school on Wednesday, they could not wait to get there.

Pupils at Dedworth Middle School in Smiths Lane enjoyed a special treat when up and coming singer, songwriter actress Pixie Lott performed for them.

Pixie, 18, has a single called Mama Do due out in June and an album in September.

She has already starred in the West End in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang but is now on the verge of stardom - she will be supporting pop girl band The Saturdays soon on tour.

But on Wednesday she was performing for the children of Dedworth Middle and she gave them all she had got.

Her regional manager Gordon Duncan said: "It is great for people like Pixie to appear in schools.

"Billie Piper and Atomic Kitten did it when they were starting out. Pixie has had so many appreciative emails from the kids since she appeared and she has made a point of answering them."
