The EYEdea is that you don't get what you expect
The tagline for this series is

"It isn't what is seems to be" and the flashes are representing that straight away!
I swear if anyone after me says "**** campaign" before we see anything new then I will shoot them because they haven't seen the entire campaign yet...
For all we know we could be getting radio ads, ads on different channels not just C4 and E4, billboards, promotions on drinks or chocolate (I remember before BB4 started they gave people a chance to have a weekend party in the house after the series and by doing a competition on Frijj milkshakes... they are my favourite milkshake and beverage now and I am addicted to them in the same way I am with BB)
We could be getting some really amazing extended eye flashes that are really obviously BB and show the tagline and the tagline is repeated everywhere, they could do something really new!

Just wait and see before judging and give the show a chance!

I really like it! It is what big brother is all about, leaving us in suspense and anyway it adds to the excitement of it all, as we get closer to the launce night the ads will get better! Roll on three weeks

I don't like them, but not because they don't show much of the eye.

I'm not really bothered how much of the eye they show to be honest - they're ONE SECOND teasers. If C4 didn't broadcast them they'd only show animated 4 logos in their place, so it's just a little extra promotion.

What's with all these '**** campaign' type comments? You do realise these aren't part of the ad campaign? Eye flashes aren't adverts they are stings, Channel 4 don't count them as anything more and they're not considered part of the promotion, they're just there to compliment it.

Stings are found on most channels, they're there to pad out the ad breaks and remind people what channel they're watching. They air all year round, but usually they show the channel logo, in this case, the channel 4 one. Channel 4 just replace them for a few weeks.

The ads haven't started yet.

Calm down.

Also they're obscure deliberately for curiosity factor and to create discussion amongst the more observant of fans.

^ Lol ... I think he wanted to be on the George Orwell fan forum but came on the wrong one signed up and then realised his mistake :P

And actually I thought they were idents? Or are idents longer ones like before a show starts?

Idents are the short clips before programmes on all channels during which the announcers introduce the programmes. On Channel 4, they're the various animations of the 4 logo animating in to view (some of their ident themes include pylons, Japan, motorways and hedges).
