Well, have to wait and see what's said.
However certainly in part, perhaps a harder line ought to have been taken with Johnson over the virus and lockdown easing measures.

They looked gloomy as he was announcing the first and then more.
However said little at the time.

They must have a bad outlook for it, to be doing it alone.
Then this week Universities returning too.
There's more potential to add to risks.
Anyhow, have to wait to see what the new words are going to be as to this now.

It concerns me that its at 11am rather then the usual tea time. To me that says measures are going to be in place from tomorrow. That said its in lockdown where i am from tomorrow anyway

they didn't make any mention of Boris attending, just the medical people, so my guess would be that they will show some graphs showing it's getting worse, then they will suggest measures that could be taken. Then, either later today or tomorrow Boris will set it in stone. They are still arguing about it in cabinet. If i were to guess it will be limits on travel, and shielding will be re-introduced. Activities related to school and work will be maintained

Different countries doing different things both in terms of lockdown, and PPE/social distincing... All tracking essentially the same graph curves with very few exceptions.

As always I'll comply with what we're asked to do but my feeling is that we're grasping at straws with a lot of this stuff, "circuit breaker" lockdowns, etc... and the drop over summer was simply because viruses drop off in summer months as standard.

We should protect the old and vulnerable as much as we can through shielding and let the rest of the population get on with it i think. Build up some community immunity and the problem will largely resolve itself. A sort of gentle form of herd immunity

no since youth can't obey rules on their own, we need to order those vile superspreaders to stay home

getting youth off the streets makes it a more safe place for old and vulnerable if they want to go to supermarket

Let's say that they've all lost 10% of their wealth across the board, are you arguing that balancing budgets on the poor is the right move, after a decade of austerity? Putting money in the hands of low income/poor people is the quickest way to stimulate local economies as any money they get goes straight into local businesses.

different sectors have done better than others of course. For example computers and technology got a massive boost from people working from home. Hand sanitisers, masks etc have seen a boost ... that was completely expected. People see changes in the market, and those that move quickly can take advantage of it ... that is a normal market economy.

You can always find examples to suit any narrative, so providing single examples is meaningless.

After that press conference, there are going to be further restrictions, thats a given. Shutting the pubs an hour earlier is not going to cut it
