Downing is a better crosser and more consistent, yes.
And I dunno if am remembering right but I think he was the quickest player in the PL last season. |

I watched Young when on Sky when he first debuted for Watford and you could tell he was something special from then. He was brilliant for Aston Villa also, although a tad frustrating sometimes.
At United it's more tougher but it's enabling him to step his game with better players, no disrespect intended but it's a fact. I prefer Young over Downing personally but Downing is a good player too.

Per Mertesacker has been given permisson by the Germany manager to leave the squad and have a medical at Arsenal. Finally Wenger has got off his ass and signed a class defender. He's only 26 and already has 75 caps. Just one more defender and we may start making teams work to score against us.

According to the same source. Arsenal have ended their interest in Gary Cahill after having last weeks joke bid rejected. So Arsene thinks one defender - class though he may be - is enough to shore up Arsenal defenses. He's lost it. for sure.
I can see him walking away. He'll never be sacked and frankly I hope he never is sacked, but his ideology and philosophy is not working - Barcelona beat us to it - fans and pundits have crawled up his ar*e over the shocking state of the squad and his naive tactics. I can see the pressure getting to him and him simply walking away. Then we can get Martin O'Neill in and he'll definitely sign players for this season and not 3 - 4 season in the future.

More on Arsenal ending their interest in Gary Cahill. The sad thing is the club have said they wont stand in his way. So he's definitely available but the 'genius' Wenger doesnt want to pay the 10 - 15 mill that it would take to get him. Wenger is gonna have to perform some kind of miracle with these players to save his skin Gunners end Cahill pursuit

Bolton need to sell him by tomorrow, he's out of contract at the end of the season so if they keep him til January they'll only get half the price, and if they keep him til the end of the season he'll leave for free.
If someone offered more than about 12 Mil they'd probably have to accept |
