Sorry bots, but this is just really ignorant. We agreed to the deal, Boris campaigned on the deal, Boris won a massive majority on the back of the deal, the tories voted the deal through parliament, refusing an extension to give us time to iron out anything we didn't like.

The fact the tories now want to rip this up, screwing over Ireland in the process because they don't like what's in the deal, speaks to the absolute worst of the fraudulent chancers that run the government.

We've always had far more to lose than the EU and so trying to screw them over is no way to get what we want out of any negotiations. This is purely a play to shift the blame of this disastrous brexit onto the EU.

It's disgraceful what Boris is doing; but their mates taking advantage of tax havens is far more important than what happens working people up and down the islands.

It's crazy to think any negotiator will treat us more seriously because we're willing to break the law to avoid an agreement we made less than a year ago. This is a whole different level of brexiteer rationale and delusion.

How can anyone negotiate in good faith with people like this?

...yeah, the negotiations are a big thing, aren’t they...they’re of huge importance...it’s a time when it really matters ‘what people think’...as in other countries...?..but it’s also the values that it was meant to represent in being ‘great again’...because being part of Europe, obviously didn’t make us great at all...We as a country want our laws to be stricter in the justice system, it’s often said...but we’re fine with breaking the law../..to overlooking the law being broken and manipulated and not even for our gain but for personal gain...when is this ‘time of greatness’ going to come for us...because Boris is determined to postpone and delay it as long as possible...

the UK and Europe have already been negotiating around the deal for years, extending the deadline wouldn't achieve anything. It needs a proper cutoff. The EU are well known for taking things to the wire. It's their typical behaviour. May was a dreadful negotiator ... it needs to be tough and she was anything but. Personally, i still think there will be a deal, but if there isn't well we will just need to get on with it until a deal appears down the line ... which will come. It's up to party's to take a position and fight it at the next election.

...but ‘just have to get on with it..’...isn’t the line anyone was sold, though...I’m sure that there will be Brexit voters who feel completely let down by ‘just get on with it...’...when the ‘down the line‘ they were led to believe in was a Britain that was going to be great again...

...seriously, we care about Rule Britannia being sung at an event but we don’t care if the laws of that ‘Britannia’ are manipulated in our name...

i voted for remain, and i didn't vote in the last election, so i am no Boris supporter, but I do know that the EU can be intransigent right to the last moment. It is still perfectly possible we will get a deal. However, i am a realist, so I believe we deal with the issues we face as we experience them, so we will have to get on with it ... to think any other way is pointless

All of this is meaningless when you accept the fact we are happy to break the law to renege on a deal that everyone signed up for. It's ridiculous to treat this as a both sides negotiating standoff. The EU aren't doing anything wrong, they have 27 member states to fight for, we have 1.

....hmmmm, I guess that we’re going to have to disagree on many things, bots..because...( ...as difficult as deciding on voting sometimes is with the choices we have..)...‘Realism’ comes in many shapes and sizes also and voting goes a little toward trying to ensure that we don’t have to just get on with it because voting is the only realistic step toward any change being possible ....

...obviously I’m a Remain voter as well, you might have guessed that......but I’m sure that there will be Brexit voters as well who feel completely let down by ‘just get on with it...

Is all law breaking acceptable now? Are you going to delete your illegal migration thread? Or is it only white criminals doing things you want that isn't the end of the world?
