Bowie, at Sov's age, was high as a kite. Elton John, at over twice Sov's age, threw venomous, volcanic tantrums which made hers look like sighs.
And on the subject of immaturity, let's not forget Michael Jackson.

Compared to many of her contemporaries (Winehouse, Molko, etc), Sov is actually very well behaved.
Lady Sovereign is a much more complex individual than many give her credit for. "Arrogant" "selfish" people don't have a history of depression self-harm.

Creative artists like Sovereign are often somewhat chaotic people. Conservative minds are more stable but they don't come up with anything original or unique. Some music critics have stated they hope Sovereign does not mellow.
Most fascinating is Sov's inarticulacy around other people in contrast to the articulacy of her lyrics. Its in her songs she is able to fully communicate. She's self-taught, self-made, a lazy person does not and could not make themselves as Sov has done.
She's the antithesis of the tarty manufactured pop princesses who dominate the charts.

Having grown up in a rough neighbourhood, and then having become used to being attacked in the media for existing, Sovereign has adopted a defensive attitude.

Why should she listen to people who have labelled her a chav? There's a thinly veiled insinuation that people from her background should not be allowed to make music (the media much prefer that a posh person like Lily Allen pretend to be working class than have the real thing).
IMHO It is naive to think Sovereign could have fitted in with this set of HMs. She was too different to the others; human beings form into groups based on similarity. Had she made the effort to fit in, she would have still have been put up for eviction, she would only have been delaying the inevitable.

She collaborates with many other musicians and plays on a football team, so she clearly is not averse to being a team player. However she is self-made and tends to do everything herself, so a communal environment is totally unnatural to her. She's a loner to some extent, making it an uphill effort to connect with other people. She's not a social animal, so I am a little confused as to how she is supposed to magically turn into one.

In my experience people with social skills tend to look down on those who are less socially adept, as if we are all supposed to be able to do the whole "social" thing.

Whlst that appears on the face of it to be a thoughtful post, I have to say I can die happy now havinhg read it all now. The comparison between Lady Chav and David Bowie is excellent - both immensely successful yet complex artists working on their 3rd No1 album and at the top of their game............i have actually printed the above as it's hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!

In another 35 years I'm sure we'll all be retrospectively buying her back-catalogue as a 16 album set when she's inducted into music's Hall of Fame.

You misunderstand the comparison. Sovereign exists in a time where there are so many manufactured "artists" that we now expect all our musicians to be middle class public schoolboys and dolly bird pop girls, filtered through the process of having their creativity effectively sucked out of them by drama school and get into the business via their connections in the media. They are taught to perform sappy love songs (the most boring subject for music, frankly) and sappy love songs only.

Musicians have always been immature.

At least Sov does music for the love of it, unlike Silly Allen who only does it for the money.

She's a bit of a loner, and really you're either born as a social animal or a loner and there's no way of magically changing from one to the other. I would never enter the BB house for this reason, I think if you are not a social animal (and alot of people are not) then you are screwed in an environment like BB. Hell is other people if you are a loner.
The phrase "No man is an island" is total BS as some people are.

I can't see how Sov could have ever fitted in, she's just way too different. "You're weird, I'm weird, lets be mates", but there's no one sufficiently weird for Sov to be mates with. Sov works hard on her music because it matters to her.

In order to bond with people you have to be similar to them. The other HMs were all highly conservative people, so no similarity and thus no chance of connection.

Throughout the history of BB people have never bonded with people who are different from them. Groups form based on like-mindedness and social status.

If people can call Sov "Chav" then why can't we call Sisqo a certain word beginning with "N"?

The sprog got dropped by Def Jam as she was being too petulant to even do gigs far less new album.
