I will not surrender, says Tom Tugendhat
Tom Tugendhat said he would not withdraw from the Tory leadership race despite coming fifth in the first round of voting. "I'm still in this fight," he told reporters in Westminster. He said picking up 37 votes as a backbencher showed there was an appetite for a "clean start". |

Truss probably has some good ideas but she's just not a strong communicator
I can see her flopping in TV debates and hustings |

Lord Frost urges Kemi and Suella to back Liz and unite the right
Lord Frost is understood to be privately urging Suella and Kemi to drop out and back Liz Truss for leader of the Conservatives, Ben Riley Smith, DT Political Editor, writes. A friend of Lord Frost said: “While Suella, Kemi and Liz are all extremely good candidates on the right of the party, he thinks Liz Truss’s evident determination to put Britain onto a new reforming free-market economic path gives her the edge. He thinks it’s time for all three to unite behind her and make sure the members get a candidate who can deliver real economic reform and change.” ----- get lost Frost |

Remembering Kerry
|
Honestly I do wish they'd stop concentrating so much on polling from the opinion polling organisations.
While voting is going on as well. I have little to no respect or faith in opinion polling. They've been wrong so many times even on binary questions such as the EU referendum. Unfortunately however opinion polling can perhaps influence. I'd ban the lot of them at least a week before general elections and especially whenever ANY voting was actually taking place. Often their questioning comes with loaded statements too. Really annoys me that so much attention gets placed onto opinion polling. |
