when you vote in the UK you don't vote for the PM so there's never been an "elected PM"... you vote for your local MP. UK doesn't have a presidential style BS US system. You vote for they party you want ... they the party choose the PM. It's not exactly a new system so you should be able to get your head around it by now.

Of course we vote for leaders - that's why the likes of Kinnock and Foot kept Labour in the wilderness for so long, then along came Princess Tony, down with the kids and promising us a bunch of fairy stories and the GBP bought it. When Tone stood for a third election he did so cynically and with the full intention of foisting that useless article Brown on us as PM.

Like it or not elections are not just fought on manifestos but on personalities and only an idiot like yourself would say differently.

Last night there was a 1 hour prog on BBC Scotland called "Why dont Scots vote Tory"

the conclusion was that Scottish people are not in awe of posh people and class and therefore just see them as twats and as such dont vote for them hoping to one day be them

The results actually reflect the opposite, since the English are also not in awe of so-called "posh" people which is why we are NOT afraid to vote them in, and we don't practice reverse class discrimination.

Wouldn't trust smarmy Cameron further than I could sling him - although the same would probably apply to most polititians! But there is something very untrustworthy about Cameron - and as he didn't win the election - nothing is written in stone!
