He definetly survives.

With a family like the Dingles they are loyal and wouldn't be funny about it so he's got nothing to worry about if he's scared what other people will say.

I think they will end up together eventually at some point, that Jackson is just a plot device to try and make it happen and make Aaron face up to the fact he is gay.
