MP's get their £3,000 pay rise.
Some MP's are donating that to Charity. Rishi Sunak (Chancellor) is going Live today with some more assistance. Last edited by arista; 09-10-2020 at 07:45 AM. |

Ex-Journalist Allegra Stratton to lead No 10 TV briefings
She used to work on Peston ITV, and before that the BBC. Robert Peston was speaking on Times Radio DAB. She is on the Front Pages I posted (Guardian/Times/Telegraph) one page back https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-54468229 [The daily updates, similar to the format used by the White House in the United States, will start next month. Boris Johnson has said the briefings will allow the public more "direct engagement" with the government.] Allegra left ITV to work for Rishi Sunak and now will do the Daily Afternoon TV /Radio broadcast for Johnson PM. That just sounds awful. It’s very sad to hear that these students (and I’m sure many others) feel this way at the moment. I think whichever choice they choose to make they will be in a rather crap situation regardless. Now is a really terrible time to be a student at the moment.

Coronavirus cases in England have "increased rapidly" with one in 240 people infected, Office for National Statistics data shows.
Covid Symptom Study app data also shows UK cases are rising, but at a slower pace than in early September. The figures come as the government in England grapples with how to introduce new restrictions. Science advisers warn hospital admissions are "very close" to levels in early March. Ministers say cases are "getting out of control". The ONS estimates, which go up to 1 October, that 17,200 people a day are being infected in homes in England, with the highest rates in the North East, North West and Yorkshire and The Humber. The organisation estimates that one in 500 people are infected in Wales and Northern Ireland. The Covid Symptom Study app - which uses data from 4 million people and 12,000 swab tests - estimates 21,903 people are developing Covid symptoms every day across the UK. That is 1,000-a-day more than a week ago. Prof Tim Spector, who led the analysis at King's College London, said: "We aren't out of the woods yet, especially as hospital admissions are starting to increase, which we predict will continue to do so over the next two weeks." The rise in cases and people being admitted to hospital is causing mounting concern. New rules are expected to be announced on Monday and come into force on Wednesday. The precise details are still being debated, but could include closing pubs and restaurants or a ban on overnight stays in some areas. Data presented to MPs by England's chief medical officer, Prof Chris Whitty, appears to put the hospitality sector in the firing line as parts of society such as schools and universities are being kept open. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-54477618 Last edited by bots; 09-10-2020 at 11:55 AM. |

our PM Rutte is live now
he again says pubs, bars, restaurant remain closed at 22:00 PM also that local mayors of cities have decided to close supermarkets, pharmacies too at 22:00 PM, and might close earlier to prevent youth from buying extra alcoholic drinks to prevent unnecessary partying

clever question from one reporter: do you hold responsibility on how bad it looks now (as one of the worst hit countries in europe now amid second wave) also on you and your parliament?
Rutte replied yes but we are still not as worse than France, Spain (lol no reason to compare our smaller netherlands to bigger nations) people are still able to go to pubs like normal in weekends

i don't know why they choose 22:00 PM as a specific time slot when everything must close
can't people get infected before that?

67% is bull****, who can realistically survive on a 1/3 pay cut? And its hospitality, most people will be min wage.
