It looks like Steve McDonald is going to make an honest woman of Becky Granger when he asks her to marry him. A Corrie source tells the mag: "Steve and Becky's wedding day will be a wedding to watch. Coronation Street fans have taken Becky to their hearts and it'd be wonderful to see her come out on top for once. However, there'll be plenty of hurdles for her to overcome before she gets that ring on her finger." Not least the fact that she gets two proposals - one from Steve and one from Jason Grimshaw.[/spoil]

Cornershop mogul Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) and new lover Tara Mandal (Ayesha Dharker) are planning to sell swanky pictures.

And burly builder Bill Webster (Peter Armitage) is the first “artist” they sign — after spotting a doodle he has done of a naked woman.

Tara and Dev have finally got their relationship on an even footing after she forgave him for sleeping with her mum Nina.

To make amends, Dev offers to bank-roll her art dream, promising the gallery will be a huge venture taking them up the social ladder.

He tells her: “The only thing we need do now is draw up the business plan and we, my dear, are about to make Tate Britain look like Little Britain.”

An ITV1 source told TV Biz: “Weatherfield is really changing at the moment. Now we’re getting an art gallery.”
