C'mon BB we are all routing for you!!! lol Its been the underdog of tv shows for years now and finally seemed like it had made a comeback but 800k no one can even defend it. Even the most positive people on here are admitting its bad. Last edited by daniel-lewis-1985; 14-06-2014 at 04:59 PM. |

It's so annoying about the missing +1, also more annoying about the interview rating!! That could have done quite well! Please, someone find them!!

I can't tbh at people slating BB for ratings this year mainly on twitter, it's only doing not as well as last year because of the World cup why won't they get that in there heads

I personally think its because people cannot invest in BB and the world cup at the same time. BB is a commitment like Davina said after she left the show it took over her summer because she would have to keep up with every episode. Its the same with us viewers. The good thing is we have on demand and stuff now so hopefully we will see some pretty big leaps in officials like BB14 which all shocked us when episodes were getting over 2 million. But i do think BB has lost some of its following after launch night 1 aswell. The fans are choosing not to watch because they simply didn't like or enjoy it. BB launch night 2 lost about 400k of its loyal fanbase i think. I see it a lot on the forum that people are finding that they are watching not out of enjoyment but because they feel a kind of loyalty to the show, many people aren't like that and will switch off. ok I do agree with you there, they shouldn't of done that 2 part launch, I enjoyed both of them but it should of been one all together (US BB are doing a 2 part launch this year as well) But yeah i'm hoping the officials do well

I'm not saying the rating is good, because it's not. I'm saying official ratings will save this series.

This year’s Big Brother series could become the least watched EVER to air as numbers crash.
For the past two nights now the show has attracted fewer than a million viewers, including for last night’s first live eviction show. Crushing competition from the World Cup, which won’t be over for another month yet, has seen figures plummet . Yesterday’s show was watched by just 900,000 viewers at 9PM while over 11 million viewers were watching Netherlands thrash Spain 5-1 in the latest World Cup match. It was down almost a million viewers on last year’s show which had seen Sallie Axl go head to head with Gina Rio and Dexter Koh. Channel 5′s new trashy dating show Stand by Your Man struggled in between the two Big Brother live instalments, scoring just over 500,000 viewers. Big Brother then returned back at 10:40PM between two football matches for the eviction result and a live twist, where again just 900,000 viewers watched. The latest episode of Bit On The Side fared even worse as it went head to head with Chile and Australia’s four goal match on ITV from 11PM. So far this year the series has averaged 1.2 million viewers, down some 400,000 viewers on last year’s first week average of closer to 1.6 million. Unfortunately for show bosses things get worse tonight as the show clashes with the first England game of the competition. Bizarrely, despite the game starting at 10:20PM on BBC One, schedulers have not put the show in its usual 9PM Saturday slot but instead decided to air against the match between 10PM and 11PM. I have no doubt the celebrity version will be renewed, Im just scared all of the good work c5 has done with bb13,bb14,cbb13 to get viewers back and hooked could go down the drain. I'm gonna be positive and predict something will happen to increase ratings some sort of 'gate'

Gone are the days of 4-6 million viewers per night. Despite 1 million viewers a night not being brilliant, it does show that there is a solid group of viewers out there. I would hazard a guess that the show is doing just fine. Companies have still teamed up with C5 to advertise products on the show, Super Casino is still sponsoring the show too... there seems to be a continual commercial interest in the show so I wouldn't worry too much about the show failing at the moment.
It's the officials that will be make or break. If they don't do well then there might be some concern. Although I hope we'll be surprised when officials start coming out. |

Officials will save the show this year, I'd expect a 350K - 450K rise on the overnights! Peoples viewing habits have changed drastically over recent years, I usually catch up on demand 5 or record it due to my working schedule. I still think that 1 million viewers is still an applaudable amount of viewership as overnights. The series has started very well, I'm hooked. Viewers started switching off in 2007, I'm happy that they are playing with the format. Big Brother is still relevant.

Not surprised to be honest. With the world cup going on this year and the absolutely awful selection of housemates, this was inevitable, unfortunately. I just hope they do a better casting job next year. This model/in the limelight type housemate is incredibly boring and ineffective. I just hope they realize how well BB14 did and how poorly BB15 is doing and can act accordingly.

Not bad at all last night considering.
1st show- 990,000 Interview- 960,000 Obviously that looks VERY low, but take into account how everything dropped. EE got 3.97m! As for other news, apparently according to DS, the first 2 officials (2 launches) has been released. *overnight rating Launch 1- 2.43m (higher than both BB14 launches) *2.13m Launch 2- 1.96m *1.64m Last edited by *mazedsalv**; 15-06-2014 at 12:45 AM. |

Have to note that usually launches time shift less than the other shows, so timeshifts of over 300k for both is impressive! Kind of foreshadows that on average, the shows will timeshift well over 400k. So 1.2m-1.3m overnights would become 1.6-1.7m. (on par or higher than BB12 and BB13).
