So apparently while Aladdin and Jafar are appearing in the season premiere, Jasmine will debut in the fourth episode, which seems to put to rest any fears that they'd be around for one episode and then gone again, which I'd worried was the case since they're listed as Guest rather than Recurring

Just out of curiosity, did anyone else on here watch the spin-off or was it just me that bothered?

Oh the latter part is the best of it

I wasn't sure about it at first (and the Wonderland cgi was always really glaring so I wasn't really looking forward to a whole show of it) but I loved all the Jafar stuff and his backstory and the Amara stuff as well. I love that they even gave Jafar's staff a backstory

I'd love to see her again via flashbacks or something but I doubt it.

I actually didn't dislike it at all, I just forgot about it tbh and never bothered to pick it up again.

It was a pretty boring premiere tbh.
Spoiler:

This whole thing with Emma's death being teased doesn't interest me at all because they're obviously not gonna kill her off so there's no sense of excitement or tension around it, the only part of that I find interesting is the mystery of who was under the hood (but I'm not convinced it was a real vision anyway). Also I'm beyond over the neverending relationship angst between Belle and Rumple, it's been the same old stuff for years with them now. "Morpheus" being their son was a nice twist, though.

My main area of interest this season is hopefully getting more Jafar. I like the theories I've read that the oracle girl was Jafar in disguise manipulating Emma. Her having an animal staff with glowing red eyes and the red bird (who must be an Iago reference) are pretty convincing clues. They also gave him an entire scene talking about Saviors having unhappy endings. I reckon he's sending Emma false visions (the killer in the vision used magic with red smoke and that just reminds me of Jafar as well).

The best part of the season so far is the scenes between the Evil Queen and Zelena.

Lara Parilla's acting was so cheesy and stilted back in season 1 but she really shines in those scenes now.

It's a Cinderella flashback episode next week, nice to get back to exploring some other characters instead of the same main characters always getting more and more pointless flashbacks

About time we properly met her stepmother and stepsisters too tbh (beyond the split second cameos they had in the last Cinderella episode). Lady Tremaine looks good.

Why have two of your sig images gone?

The third one was a hilarious moment.

I've just realised if Jafar ever shows up in the present-day he won't be able to have his snake staff since
Spoiler:

Amara turned back into a human and died in the Wonderland show. But that at least confirms the Aladdin scene took place before Wonderland so they don't need to explain how he's not trapped as a Genie anymore.

Shame that we probably will only have flashbacks of him (if he even appears again that is) but oh well.

Unless they do what Dezzy suggested and have them exist as separate continuities but I hope not.

Aladdin's gonna be back so I assume they're gonna expand on him being a Savior and what happened to him etc.

The second episode was better, I still don't care about Emma's storyline but the Evil Queen stuff is fun.

They tried to cram in a tad too much I felt in episode 3.

The Ella stuff was kind of dull. The stepmother actress deserved a better part.

I liked it tbh but I kind of wish they went through with what they heavily implied in the spin-off with the Red Queen being one of the stepsisters. I don't really see it as a retcon as some are saying because it was only ever an implication and never confirmed but I'd have liked it to have panned out (and Marsh hates Emma Rigby so there's another plus ). But a good thing with it not happening was that I loved Lady Tremaine as she was here.

Something I didn't get was why Lady Tremaine would send herself and Clorinda to the Land of Untold Stories rather than just push Ella through
