Mrmattybeck1 - it won't get cancelled for one night of terrrible ratings, granted it's the worse in a while, but what do you expect when 80% of those watching tv were turned to the football, it was till C5s most watched show of the day, which is respectable, and like I always say, it's 0.1% up on the channel average. It's not a lot, but it's not terrible either, we should worry when it's below the average share! plus I'm sure that everyone's aware of the strong competition, hopefully ratings will improve tonight, I imagine many sad England fans will turn away for the next few matches in spite of being 'sore losers'!

If it's above the channels annual share (3.9%) it still makes a profit as it increases shares and viewing figures, increasing advertisement profit, regardless of how small it's better to make money than lose it! Plus there were only 20% of other viewing and when you consider that around 40% is typically for multichannels, and 60% for the main 5, although 4% of the 20% yesterday sounds slim, that's pretty good. That's like 1/5 of the other available audience which is typical of higher rated BB shows! It's fine! Trust me!

The 2012 Olympic's opening ceremony in LONDON was a bigger event than this world cup game imo.

As expected last night. Tonight's game faces BB, its France and Hondrous. It shouldn't be as big as the last few primetime ratings, so I am hoping BB recovers.

If it started in July though the show would finish in October (accounting for the summer CBB), then 3 months later CBB would be back again. Overkill much?

Who in their right minds would watch BB over an England WC game anyway?
I watched BB on Sky+ at about 2am in the morning. It's going to be same for me for this WC, i'm afraid. |

Do ratings take into account live streaming. Because of where I live, we don't always get Channel 5 because of the transmission. In fact, we didn't have Channel 5 until 2011 (lucky, when you consider two weeks before BB started we finally got the channel) so I watch a lot of BB on TV Catchup and TV Player to ensure I don't miss a second, do they take into account third party viewing like this in figures?
