Well I am not convinced your quote, Ammi but I know what you are trying to say.
Then you might be right when I see for example Mother Theresa, she does look beautiful inside, that's you are saying.

..are you trying to say that Mother Theresa was 'ugly'...hah, I'm just joking with you Sooty of course...but yeah, people can be aesthetically considered beautiful and what's considered 'beautiful' at a certain time/era changes anyway, doesn't it..?..someone for instance who was considered 'good looking' in the 80s might not be so now..so it's kind of less important but no matter how classically lovely anyone was anyway, if they were not a good person then most people would not 'see' their 'beauty' but only the person they were, which isn't good....

Ammi, you are a tinker. It sounds too dificult for me. I will think about it tomorrow. I am a very simple person.

I still want to slim but the way I eat, I do not think I am really serious about it. Never mind...

Talk the devil, I am going to a restaurant/viking style today with friends, you eat as much as you like and fixed price.
You should see people there, I see many overweight people there eating so much. It is hyouman nature I supose. But I try to go there just once a month, but I tend to go more often.

I have to really discipline myself not overeatig just because of fixed price.

I put on weight so easily but difficult to lose. I guess amount what we eat is different.
Have you seen people eating in a train? Often they are overweight.

But yes, grass is greener...

..LOL..sorry Sooty, yeah I probably am....did you have a nice lunch with your friend today..?...I actually like all you can eats because then I can only have a little bit and not feel bad about leaving anything which I hate and feel embarrassed to do....when I go to a restaurant, I'll often either just have a starter for my main course or not order at all and just have a bit of someone else's, but I have a bit of a sweet tooth and usually have a pudding though....

...Sooty, we have a friend who is Malaysian and it's staggering how much he eats, although he doesn't put on weight because he's very fit and exercises a lot...but he always says that even if he's full, he will carry on eating because in his country it's rude and insulting to leave anything on the plate....have you heard that before..?...

Regarding Malaysian gentleman, I have never heard, but I have heard Chinese people, we could make table messy, messier the better as they think we enjoyed.

At buffet/viking, when we help ourselves, we should take whatever we could eat all, it is not a good manner to leave - Yko often tells me that.

Ammi, yesterday lunch, it was bit shocking.
I went out with two other friends, one is my best friend Yko and other is Mko. I know Yko since mid 80s and I know Mko since mid 70s. But I do not see Mko that often even she lives in London, mainly we talk on the phone.

Mko wanted to come to my house to see my new curtains. I was going out for lunch with Yko, so I invited Mko, after Yko agreed Mko could join us.
When we met in front of the restaurant and I tried to introduce the ladies, you should see Mko's horror look after she saw Yko. She did not close her mouth for a while. Honest!!!

It was a long story, but Mko used to work in City briefly (6 years) as a traders' assistant. Yko also worked in City, back office in a settlement department till she retired last year.

I knew Mko had worked in the finance company but I did not think they worked same period. Apparently Mko was often told off by Yko as she made mistakes. Mko was frighten of Yko that time.

Luckily Yko did not remember Mko (almost 28 years ago?). Mko said quite often I mentioned a name Yko on the phone, but she did not think it was THE Yko (Yko is common name).
We laughed it was a good job that Yko did not remember Mko so we relaxed and had a nice lunch.

But later on Yko told me, she eventually remembered Mko while we were having meals but kept quiet about it. I could never tell Mko that Yko gained her memories of her after all (not nice ones).

Oh it was a small world and hilarious.

...awwww, that must have felt really awkward for you and maybe all through your lunch, being a bit anxious that Yko might suddenly remember and things could have been said..?....isn't it interesting though that Mko, because the memories were obviously distressing for her and Yko had left an impact on her, so she remembered her..?..but Yko didn't immediately recall because that time for her didn't have the same impact/memories..?...so for Mko it was obviously felt really personally, as these things often are, so memories/bad/painful associations stayed but it was never personally meant by Yko, she was obviously just commenting..'telling off' lol on something that she hadn't felt was done correctly in their working communications.....

..oh, what a pickle...a 'sticky moment' as they say....maybe something good will come and after all these years and Mko's bad memories, they may become friends...?....

Yes, Mko is all right now. Even she invited us for her holiday cottage in France.

But I still can't forget her horror looking face.
